DmC isn't good completely independent of any of the changes to the story and characters, though. If they released that game as Devil May Cry 5 and it had the original Dante as the protagonist, and it had the same kind of plot and aesthetic and dialogue as past DMC games, I'd still think it was a steaming pile of shit because the gameplay is just boring, repetitive, and easy. It was also buggy as shit and full of retarded exploits that weren't hard to pull off but gave enormous rewards... Objectively wrong, it works exactly the same way as it always has.
The reason why it is broken is because there is much greater AoE weapons now. Try using Nevan in DMC3 and see the style meter shoot through the roof.

It's not so much trying to fit in more, trying to add as many details as possible in hopes of reducing shitposting. Also i'm aware it's for consoles but I have quite a few systems including a PS4 so that's why I was asking. It's the frame rate drops and stuttering that I'm worried about and whether there's any real truth to them.
I actually fucking love DmC. People can talk about how much better the normal DMC games are but DmC is still a fantastic action game. What I found really cool was how the environments changed as you moved through them and the metal music that played in the background. I loved the huge slew of different abilities you could get and how you couldn't just win by just hacking and slashing; you had to learn to dodge and vary your weapons. As retarded as it is, I enjoy the Hollywood-style movie story with such extreme amounts of edginess, making it stand out on its own.
DmC is a cool game and I'd love to see more like it.

Here's the thing: DmC's combat honestly seems more fluid than the previous DMC games. Not saying it has more depth or skill involved but that the actual combat animations are much smoother than that of previous installments. For example, even in regular strings where there is a pause to shift a combo, Dante doesn't jerk like in the previous games. Shit like that made me appreciate DmC for what it was, even if it wasn't faithful to the originals.

Really? I dunno, I really only see him jerking a shit ton whenever you jump cancel with him but that's congruent with the previous games. I get what you are saying with the pauses but take for instance DMC4. When playing Nero, doing the combo B requires a pause and the way the pause is implemented causes Nero to stutter his last attack. It happens with other characters too.
But in the end DmC's combat is way way slower due to the devs trying to streamline moves together and dragging out animations.

I can see Nero's but the animation itself always seemed much more fluid then anything i've seen from DmC especially since again they have those moments between every single attack where donte just stops and stares at the enemy for almost a whole second

The animations in DmC for Donte were really good but you can tell Vergil didn't have nearly as much work put into him.

I remember trying out DmC, I sat there at the first boss spamming the shoot button until it died and he could literally do nothing. You can do that in DMC without actively moving around or dodging at the very least.
DmC is pathetic, hell I even kept playing it after that, stopped once I got to the fuck you my dick is bigger line, just...awful. The absolute worst, DMC is edgy at times, but that was on an entirely new level of edgy for DMC, especially with Vergil of all people saying it.
One of the absolute worst reboots I've seen in my almost 30 years of life. Just absolutely pathetic. I'd rather play the Silent Hill HD Collections for the rest of my life than that ever again.
