Yeah, strategy is pretty important in the puppet games, more so than in normal Pokemon. I would suggest picking up a Daiyousei next time you try this and just keep it in your party. It has surprisingly good bulk, can set up leech seed, and levels up insanely quickly even if you never use it for battle. Keine and Chen are also incredibly good puppets that you can pick up early, if that helps.

You're doing it wrong. You always want to minmax with those stats, dump everything in your important stats. For sweepers, focus on Speed and their better attack, for tanks, focus on hp and either spread out between the two defenses, or patch up their weaker defense. Nah I've been putting points only into one or two of their strongest stats, but it doesn't seems to help as much as I'd like. I even went out of my way to catch multiple of the same puppet to make sure I've got one with at least a fair few of A-S rank stats. Is that what you meant by EVs?
If I've not missed anything, then I think I'm done, really. Don't have the patience for this sort of thing anymore. I'm usually fine with this kind of thing, but this game might actually have put me off turn-based RPGs for a while. Need to go play something else for a bit...

I've beaten the first five stages with no lives lost or bombs used individually, and in practice mode I've beaten Stage 6 with four lives lost total (without using bombs) and I've captured every one of Miko's cards except for her final one in spell practice mode. And I did all that yesterday.
I just need to string together a good run from that individual practice.
I'm gonna wait for the full translation. I've got plenty to keep me busy, so no point in getting something other than the full experience.

I had an average of 1-2 runs per day and took me at least half a month to 1cc it.
