Well, you see, Persona got a rhythm game but it is not SMT. They picked Persona over mainline Megami Tensei games because Persona is the more famous spin-off.

I want an RPG that takes the Dwarf Fortress approach to game design, if you dont invest so much in graphics it frees up space for gameplay. So some asshole creates a fantasy, Sci Fi, whatever kind of world he wants and goes full autist about it. Every character has a fleshed out backstory, multiple factions with complex relations to one another, many different starting locations, a massive amount of ways to personalize and improve your character, combat that is detailed enough to take into account each individual location within the game and how what youre doing affects it as battles continue, a shitton of variations for areas that exist that take into account numerous macro changes like the poverty level or a recent plague or economic prosperity, etc, etc, etc.

It hasnt been made because no one is man enough to attempt it, it probably wouldnt sell well, and it's possibly impossible to do without a LARGE staff of people all agreeing with the direction the game needs to go.

An RPGish Dieselpunk game set in a sprawling neo 1930's New York-like city. It could either go with a more light hearted direction and be more about high adventure with wacky deiselpunk technology or have a more gritty tone and focus on a more Noire theme in the cities seedy underworld. An electroswing soundtrack is very important.

Allot of other 'punk' genres have been explored in games but Deiselpunk has not recieved much recognition and as a result not many people seem to know about it. The bioshock series is the closest sort of thing we have for now.

Open world, but contained. Maybe 1/4 the size of Skyrim.

Set in a mountain town with a variety of shops and skill learning places.

Game starts: "You have 24 hours till the end of the world. The Destroyer is coming, prepare yourself."

In game 24 hours is 2 hours real time.

From there it's up to you. Increase your strength at the gym to increase attack power, train at the fencing area to increase your attack per second. Go to the mage tower to learn a handful of spells. Meditate to increase magic attack power. Go to the forge to improve your weapons/armor. Go to the archery range and improve your archery accuracy.

Or choose to explore the surrounding caves/wilderness outside of town, seek out rare weapons/items to improve your chances. Maybe find a legendary sword or diamond arrows.

Every decision to improve yourself means sacrificing time getting there.

As the clock ticks down the 24 hours the sky goes from a bright blue to cloudy grey and finally a swirling black and red with a cloudy maelstrom in the sky above the center of town.

24 in-game hours pass, a cutscene starts.

"The Destroyer has come." One of 10 designed final bosses ranging from a dragon to a giant ape to a massive reaper, etc. falls down from the maelstrom in the sky, and you have to try to defeat it with whatever skills you obtained.

probably wouldn't get made because that's a ton of work for a small world and they would have to design a shit ton of game mechanics between sword fighting, spell casting etc.

I brought this silly idea up a long time ago, but here we go again. Imagine this game I'm about to suggest as being a medieval fantasy game, imagine something like Skyrim.

The idea is for a "perfect roleplaying game." Basically, you can say whatever you want into a mic, and that's what your character will say, and that's what the NPC's will hear. Each NPC has human-level intelligence, their own set of morals and values, and their own personality. Some are friendly, some are reclusive, some are jerks, some might secretly be sociopaths, who knows? Basically, they act and live 100% like ordinary humans. Also, every event in the game is determined by factors beyond the player's control. Nobles will conspire against one another, alliances are forged and betrayals are carried out.

Your player, being the "chosen hero" or whatever, carries a significant amount of political weight, despite being a relative newcomer to the area. This allows you to get buddy buddy with some of the nobles, or the king, or whoever.

Remember, you can do whatever the flying fuck you want in this game. Quests are irrelevant.

Do you want to form your own political group and one day overthrow the king? It's possible, but it won't be easy. Do you want to become a serial killer and live out the rest of your days hunting down NPC's? Do you want to side with the BBEG at the end of the game? Do you want to become a knight and fight for your new country? Anything's possible.

Every action that you (or anybody else for that matter) perform will have consequences, positive or negative. If you randomly kill some peasant who keeps following you around, you'll have to hide the body so no one can witness your murder. Unfortunately, he can no longer provide for his family, who will die, which will leave their farm to rot. And when his body is later found by an innocent passerby, the guards assume that the bystander was the murderer.

It's an impossible game, but it's what I've always wanted.
