After being royally anal fucked after the Taken King was announced and launched, I vowed not to pick it up ever again.
Don't care if the Taken King is good or not. After what Bunghole did to day 1 players they can go and eat a sack of dicks.

While it is a great game, it does not perform as advertised. It was clearly gutted in the late development for DLC profits. There is no epic tale that you tell about yourself when everyone else is doing the same thing. If you want to be great at PvP you need to grind on the weekly at PvE. It becomes a chore, especially after they drop new DLC and you need to start all over again. I’m not excited for Rise of Iron because it makes the other entire DLC prior to it feel like a waste of time. They engineer it towards new players easily joining current players. This cheapens all of the work you’ve already put in. Why am I going to grind Rise of Iron when it will be reset with the next DLC or sequel installment?
Overwatch is solid PvP. It feels like a well polished N64 game. It steps away from the COD one-man-can-carry-a-team formula and reinforces teamwork. It keeps the game focused on the objective and doesn’t turn into Team Deathmatch. It doesn’t need “story mode”. You get to focus on your skill against other players in PvP, and not spend every week trying to get a raid team together.

Its actually a decent game now, I said decent, not amazing and life altering, but its worth a play now, the problem is it took way too long to get there and was insulting to play through with just vanilla content. Holy fucking shit it was such a let down and I imagine that put people off even attempting any of the other content and I dont blame them.

Hold back a game designed for the ps3/360 originally. Really because the way I figure it. I got a good deal and on top of that next year the playstation 4neo is coming out. So I deserved to save 300 dollars from skipping a Gen. As an added bonus I get to play everything from that Gen while moving on to the next.

It's a much better game than Overwatch overall. Still has that subtle Bungie charm and interesting lore, some very cool multiplayer features but also a full campaign, great art direction, great music, lots of content, etc.
But, it really burned my ass that they didn't include local co-op. Local co-op is what fucking MADE Halo for me. I played through Destiny before any DLC came out to full, even did the raid, but haven't touched it again, and the experience felt half what it could have been to me without the local. If they had added local, or if they ported it to PC at least, then I'd replay that shit in a heartbeat and go through all the new content.
One thing I never understood was the complaints about the story or lack of. It's like no one had fucking played a Bungie game before. WHEN THE FUCK does Bungie deliver their story right up front on a silver platter for everyone? Their writers have always been focused on attention to smaller details, world building and lore weaving, and Destiny had that since launch.

Actually Destiny was designed for the PS4 and Xbox One. Cosmodrome was suppose to be 4x larger then what we got but they had to scale it down for the Xbox 360 and PS3. The previous gen is also responsible for the storage spaces being so small and a lot of other things.

I mastered year one. Didnt play year 2 untill a few weeks ago. Pkayed maybe 5 hours and quit. Enemies arent stonger, i have just become weak. Yet i still play better in pvp and pve than people with blues more powerful than my golds :/

Early game has been completely revamped. There's enough quests and shit for it to actually be enjoyable to level up instead of endlessly grinding strikes until raid reset.
Late game is still an endless grind, except now you have some choice. You can grind PvE OR grind PvP for faction packages. You don't have to gamble on raid rewards, at least as your only source of high level gear.

There's no Bungie charm, the story is pretty unremarkable (bad guy attacks galaxy to avenge son, parks spaceship over by an uninhabited planet instead of directly attacking earth to give plot urgency and instead waits for you to kilk him, credits roll), and post story content is mind numbingly boring.
I came in with an open mind and it was even worse than what the Internet told me

I enjoyed ttk when i got it for $30 for everything released in march. Im skipping the next expansion because its not worth my time to chase the carrot to barely beat the final raid. Ill likely watch a twitch stream to get the story tho.

All the classes play the same except for one ability and a different jump. Everyone wants the same weapons, everyone wants the same armor. When I played the abilities didn't make the classes feel different enough and the shooting was terrible.
