He just wanted to make a game. To go back to the kind of Mega man games he enjoys making. And all he got was hate and venom. This is why people drop out of gaming entirely.

So...why didn't he do that?

Even creators at the level of Inafune have their missteps. We all remember MGS4-5. But he shouldn't be burried for one mistake.
Comcept is a small company, and new at that. Inafune's vision was too big for the company and their resources. He aimed for the stars when they didn't have rocket ships.
He should have just put funds into better levels and I assure you it would have been almost passable.
That or just lighting fixes would have sufficed.
In the end who cares. We have porn material left over so that can be taken as a win
If he can't make an enjoyable game with such an easy to follow formula for success in front of him then maybe he shouldn't make games anymore. That sounds harsh, but he had absolutely everything at his disposal and still fucked it up somehow.

Then why did he continuously try to kickstart and do a dozen other projects instead of putting all his effort into Mighty No 9?
Why did he mismanage the game's budget so hard?
Why does Mighty No 9 not have any of the soul of those Mega Man games he supposedly enjoys making?

>To go back to the kind of Mega man games he enjoys making.
When did he make any?

Good.
>Creator of Mega Man
Should have been a red flag for everyone

Thank you based con man

Then he shouldn't promise the sky when he can't deliver it.
Personally, I thought it was an ok first attempt at the formula, but what really left a sour taste in my mouth with the entire project was his reaction to his game being broken. He just went "Well, it's better than having no game" no, fuck you. Fix your goddamn shit cause without those people bitching about your broken game you couldn't have made it in the first place.
