4U is the better game.
Play anything other than gen 4.
Generations doesn't have meme apex monsters and shitty frenzy mechanics so that one.
MH4U is the better "overall" MH game.
Generations is more like, good if you want something quite different from other games.

4u is the introductory stage of the pogo stick and mounting. it is also a grindfest for relics
g is the advance stage where new styles and skills are introduced. But this game has no G rank, so it's kinda short compare to 4u

4U is better in pretty much every regard desu, but Monhun Gen is where every hunter's gonna be at for the next 2 or so years, so unless you like hunting alone, go for Generations.
