Hamada is like Endo in that they rarely laugh, they barely try to get other people to laugh, and most of their skits are so played out it's tiring to watch them. Having to see Endo's dirty laundry year after year with Chiaki berating him feels like the same old same old. At least Hamada occasionally gets a skit that's funny.

Batsu games haven't been worth watching for 5 years. Gaki is mostly trash these days, the latest silent library was alright but we're talking about the first one they've done in 7 years.
Downtown is the best thing they're a part of, and that's more due to all the quality work done by the writers instead of the minuscule contributions of the haggard old wastes of space in the studio.

I might be wrong about this but I don't think Matsumoto dislikes Hamada. I remember reading that Matsumoto felt inferior early on because Hamada was more popular and made more money or something like that so it seems to me like Matsumodo just doesn't really know how to handle himself around Hamada, especially on camera/in public. Watch the 500 questions about Hamada when they're together at the end, Matsumoto looks very uncomfortable and Hamada seems really friendly.
