The console sales are dramatically decreasing with each and every gen.
Consoles cost 300-500 a pop now and they aren't even ahead when it comes to tech and and hardware anymore.
People now stick generally stick with one per gen because exclusives have died down in value; the only major console and company left that really offers a ton of exclusives is Nintendo.
The problem with PC gaming is that it isn't marketed as something cheap, resourceful or cool. Building a powerful PC is also complex as fuck for the average idiot casual or normie; they don't want to deal with it.
Once some major corporation like Steam or Microsoft gets onto that though, and actually begins marketing PC gaming for normie and casual retards - then it'll take off.
