I haven't been in a gamestop for years because i don't need minecraft merchandise, board game reskins, or funko Pop figures
>parents get me a Gamestop gift certificate for my birthday
I mean, I appreciate it, but...

>buy Steam gift card from Gamestop
>Steam =/= Gamestop?

console peasant, I haven't purchased anything at gamestop in more than 5 years
amazon prime for everything
>>345328756
Console player here, I haven't been to gamestop in years. Much cheaper at amazon, bestbuy, and target where you can price match.
I'm really glad I don't touch steam. It was shit 5 years ago and it's even shittier now. You don't even own the games you buy.
I avoid Gamestop like the plague, there's like 2-4 better retail stores within 5 minutes easy.
never had a problem buying new games there, used games are the problem. i've had to exchange most of the used games i bought from them because of scratched discs. so now i only buy new.

You can sell that to gamestop, you give them gift cards and they give you cash
>work at gamestop
>in my four years there I have never once bought a game from our store
I seriously treat our games like a video rental store. Only reason I started was because my boss does it too. Only thing he told me was to never use the pre-order codes because that would bite us in the ass and i'd have to buy the game.

>>require your name, address, and phone number for used game returns
false
>>345328756
>require your name, address, and phone number for used game returns
I mean, that's a legal thing, not just some weird company policy.
>>345333796
We stopped doing that. Wasn't making us any money. On a related note, ask a GameStop DM (District manager) anything. I am at my office so answers will be pretty spaced out. Just reply to this and I'll answer as I can.

>No manuals, have to be viewed as pdfs online

It's hilarious when these PC peasants will put up with

games don't come with manuals anymore
>offer next to nothing for trade ins
why are you selling your games? and to gamestop, no less
>require your name, address, and phone number for used game returns
ok?
>muh pre-orders
say no
>muh Game Informer subscription
never been asked
all these issues could be remedied by just not going to gamestop

How often do you want to kill yourself?
>not buying all your games from amazon
>>345336708
No more than anyone else I suppose. I have a 2 kids and a loving wife, a career patching that puts my kids in college, make 6 digits a year, and get the hottest titles for free.
Down side? I browse /v/ in my down time.
>>345337321
Holy shit I butchered that... Career pathing and 2 kids*

what is the best time of day and day of the week to rob a gamestop?
>>345337495
Any time, no one there actually cares enough to stop you
>>345337864
Basically this. If you wanna get away though go around 8:45-8:50.
fucking gamestop
They need your info for trade-ins because they have to follow pawn shop rules and regulations.
