>>345325308
it gets good when he says "I never asked for this" at the beginning, and the rest of it is shit
>>
>>345325308
If you want to enjoy the game, play on hard and never use melee takedowns or the cover system.
>>
It's alright. Atmosphere and works design it's very nice. Gameplay is okay on the hardest difficulty. Hopefully Mankind Divided will fix the issues that HR had.
>>
Remember to avoid Mankind Divided.

Do not buy Mankind Divided under any circumstance.
>>
The first level is really good though. Not the opening before you get your augments, the one in the typhoon lab.

What's so bad about it?

Denuvo is anti-ethical and anti-consumer.
You have no idea how much you're hurting PC gaming by supporting games using it.

Hogs a considerable amount of resources from your PC
Makes mods impossible
Requires on-line activation and constant on-line authentication. Many people reported how their DOOM copies failed to authenticate, locking them out from the game they paid money for and they had to wait 24 hours.
All the money and resources wasted licensing Denuvo and implementing it could be used to improve the game
Dramatically shortens SSD's lifespan
And that's without going in detail about how piracy is essential for a healthy videogame industry.

It doesn't get good. Possibly one of the most boring games I have ever played.

>have to gimp yourself (no takedowns or cover) and play on the hardest difficulty to make the game even remotely challenging
>bosses (even in the directors cut) are badly designed and pretty much require you to exploit the environment
>literally every area can be snuck into via an airduct that is normally within breathing distance of the main entrance
>conversation 'mini-game' is literally just guessing what you need to say if you haven't levelled up your charisma or whatever
>zero depth with weapon modifications and augs, you can quite easily max essentially everything and become an unstoppable machine
>hubs are very small and badly designed, not fun at all to explore

I'm sure I'm forgetting something. A lot of these criticisms can be applied to the original, but that game excels in plenty of other areas, HR is mediocre or bad in all departments.

After beating HR three times (and getting various things like Foxiest of the Hounds) I finally decided to do a pacifist run and invested into hacking while completely disregarding every weapon aside from the revolver and non-lethal ones.

No, that's not the issue with stealth in HR. The issue was that stealth/non-lethal/hacking all gave you a lot of extra XP, meaning extra praxis points, meaning more augs and an easier game. Shooting your way through is a valid way to play, but you won't have as many cool toys.

I'd like some source on that, chief.

I'm only guessing. If you play HR on console you get the wheel but on PC it has the bar. I think it's safe to assume it will be the same with MD

>what kind of shit game is this....melee attacks are using BATTERY and you a cyborg ultra mecha soldier can't use your fists because you have NO FUCKING battery

This is probably the only real problem I have with the game. That and it expected me to care a little too much about Jensen.

It pisses me off so much that they removed that sweet telescopic baton and proper melee and it pisses me off even more that what they replaced it with is a time freezing, no skill required instant kill attack that is so OP they made it use batteries even thought that makes no fucking sense at all.

And there is no denying it, it's because of the fucking thumbsticks on the console controllers. Those things are the bane of first person games.

It shoots slow (even with cooling system upgrade) and the rounds still do less damage than a fully upgraded revolver.

Laser wrecks everything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwenpJiZXIY

Denuvo is garbage and will make the games unplayable in a few years, just like secuROM

But they wont.

you don't know that

Laser is a really clever way to do that fight, but that also made it kind of OP.
