Spyro the dragon thread
Ripto's Rage has some of the comfiest skyboxes of all time.
that was a fun ride. not enjoying the second one as much though, seems like they tacked on a bunch of stuff that wasn't necessary.

Congrats on the 120%. I don't know man. I kinda like the second one, even if they did add a bunch of shit to it. IMO, it felt like a proper sequel. Same great formula with new features.

I feel ya. The third one comes around into its own though. The second spyro is definitely the weakest.
2 > 3 >>>>>>>>>>>>> 1

How do you even manage to have such shit taste? Spyro one was by far the best of the series. Just pure exploration and the least tedious to 100%.

Not the same anon my Spyro 1's worlds all bleed together, its bosses are totally forgettable and on a mechanical level the gameplay isn't as polished as Ripto's Rage was.
1 definitely has the best atmosphere but I think 2 strikes the best balance, building on its framework and having a good amount of variety without going totally overboard the same way Year of the Dragon did.

I can see where you're coming from, and my biggest problem with Spyro 2 was having to get skills later to 100% the stages.
Ripto's Rage is the only one I never finished, still got 3/4 way through. The series kind of reminds me how Banjo Tooie went way over board and killed the laid-back exploration of Kazooie.
The real question is: which has the best soundtrack?

2 is best. Like Crash, 3 is shit. Relies on too many gimmicks that detract from the core gameplay; platforming.
Spyro one is mega comfy
Might play it again
