I will agree that the plot was compelling, more-so than me2 but the environments are really stale, the fucking MAKO levels, it was fun for the first 5 minutes and then it became unplayable.
Playing it the first time the combat is fine but knowing how much better it can be after playing ME2 it becomes really apparent on how dull it is.

It wasn't until I replayed the series that I realised just how much the OST degraded.
ME1 was the perfect Sci Fi throwback, and the soundtrack gave it absolutely perfect ambience.
ME2 and 3 were just generic Orchestral tracks that could be put anywhere, with a few notable exceptions (like TIMmy's theme)

Sorry, I actually finished college and do biomed research now. I've dealt with people from lots of other fields throughout grad school and during my career, and I just listed physics undergrads because they're easily the most euphoric of all.

It depends on whether or not there are good quests and character arcs to balance out the exploration.
The big environments in Inquisition were nice, but the fetch quests made it feel like there was rarely anything of substance to find or interact with.
