Bare in mind Docsis 3.x can do gigabit full duplex now so the future could be very bright indeed.
Hopefully once the coexistance period is over speeds will jump up as everyone fucks off dsl/pots
That said it wont come close to fttp but ive used it a bunch elsewhere and its no better than fttn because most isp's are cheapshits and dont buy enough bandwidth for peak user usage times like 3-10pm
