Really don't like Ocelot's design in MGSV. In MGS3, they clearly made it a point of making sure young Ocelot looked like his elderly self. Same facial features, etc. Even has the same prominent widow's peak.
But then MGS5 comes around and he looks totally different. The V shaped hairline somehow became a straight one. His nose grew 3x its size. His voice sounds completely unlike himself before or after.
And then you add in the fact that MGSV ocelot doesn't act like ocelot either. So he doesn't look or act like him.

To me, it's fairly easy. Troy Baker is the guy with the cowboy accent and a gruff voice, and Robin Atkin Downes is always pissed off sounding, with a relatively smoother, lighter pitch to his voice.
Troy Baker's performance as Ocelot is weird. At times, he sounds like a perfect younger version of MGS2 Ocelot with the same gruffness and cadence. At other times, he's just doing Troy Baker with extra Southern twang. My head canon is that during serious moments (like in cutscenes), Ocelot will talk with a neutral accent. But in codec messages and casual conversation, he enjoys his cowboy roleplay and practices his cowboy accent since he's a big spaghetti Western fan.
