I'm currently playing through the Crash games for the first time. I just reached the second hub of Crash 2.
These games hold up surprisingly well. Unlike Mario 64 which went more into non-linear exploration, these games feel more like a literal translation of 2D platformers into 3D.

CSBfag here. Playing through Warped currently, trying to get back and get gems and time relics. Some of the platnium ones are fucking hard. Especially the underwater ones. But I did fully complete the first game and people say that was harder, so I must push on.

If it wasn't for the fact that I spend like half of my time riding vehicles in 3, and if there had been with platforming instead, I'd like 3 more. That being said, I'm hopeful that they add Time trials to the original 2 games in the remake, because if they do, it could be a lot of fun and add some nice replayability.

I'm pretty demanding when it comes to crash, and while I wouldn't consider XS part of the great crash games tier (it was just alright), N tranced is definitely on it. I have to replay it someday.
The fact that the same studio behind these games are the ones developing the remaster trilogy actually hypes me a little bit.

I think the best Crash I've seen is the one they made for Smashified. I don't know what's with it, maybe it has something to do with the colors or they're just really talented artists that pulled of a lot of shit I can't figure making this render, but it feels just nintendo-like enough to give him even more charm while still being Crash. It's just an awesome 'redesign' overall and I love it.
And I would crap my pants if he looked like this in the remasters.

That's the american name for XS (or XS is the european name for the huge adventure). It was... alright. I thought N tranced was simply better in every aspect.
It's not a bad game by any means but it's not unique enough, just smashed crash 1-3 into a game and there you go. It doesn't try anything. It's not like N tranced is the pinnacle of originalty but it introduced things and was better executed in my opinion.

I haven't played crash of the titans at all so I can't tell. I'm simply not interested. Twinsanity on the other hand though it's actually a great game despite being unpolished.
If you want to know about other gba games, crash nitro kart for the gba is surprisingly alright. It looks way worse than mario kart super circuit but it's actually a decent game. Yeah, I couldn't believe it either.

I'de be totally ok with the smashified design but i find the challenge of crashes model one of the hardest things to do. His renders for the playstation covers and magazines looked completely different... i (probably for nostalgia reasons) like Crash 1 crashes model more then 2 and 3 which imo only truly shine when crash is expressing himself via dance, handing in crystals. If they can just recreate the original model but in HD that would be grand for me.

2 1 3 though 1 is my personal favourite and i find 3 to be too devisive it's either "the best" or "the worst" and desu its pretty decent.

The new versions look bad because they're screwing up his lower jaw. Making it either too big or too long.
Also they always make his fur and hair way too detailed.
This smashified design is about as good as it could get. I think the colors are a bit off though, and it's a bit too shiny for my liking (reminds me of a cereal box cover).
They need to bring it closer to the colors on the cover of Crash 2. Pic related.
