IMHO f-a-m, those are still the best games of all time right after OoT.

>Zelda = Deepest most nonlinear adventure game difficulty-wise.
>Zelda II = Deepest RPG, and alone in its genre.

Which brings me to my next question. After 30 years, why are these games still untopped?
>>
>Zelda II - Deepest RPG
Good one.

It is, mechanically speaking.

I mean they're fun exploration games but come on.

How many rpgs have you played?

It's the deepest RPG if you've never played another RPG. It's a side scroller with light leveling mechanics.

I'm not here to rank games but I'm excited to play them with a good gamepad as well. I have them for my 3DS and it just doesn't feel quite right. I want to play them on a TV but not with the gamepad either. I hope the NES:CE will upscale and also come with filters.

Is this one of those "I never actually experienced this, but I read about it on tcrf so it must be true and I'll share it rhetorically on /v/" posts?

If so, you should know, the people there don't even play video games. They just sit around scanning the games for stuff to rip.

This was their only strategy going into Holiday Season 2016. They are releasing this info now to ride the coat tail of GO now that everyone has their eyes on Nintendo.

This buys time for NX development because its further off than everyone is projecting.

This, also, is the plateau of the retro nostalgia fad. It will start to die after this year once everyone will have easy access to these games without having to buy a used copy of software for $20-$300, not counting used or aftermarket hardware.

I'm just looking forward to a fresh wave of crybaby modern Zelda fans trying to be Zelda 2. I can't wait to wallow in their tears as they cant figure out how to beat death mountain, cry about dairas, ironknuckles, and break their controllers over Gooma. I'd include Fokka in there because they're probably actually one of the hardest enemies in the game but none of /v/ has actually gotten that far most likely.

I wish I was just being a dick but I can see this shit happening, modern Nintendo's fanbase is genuinely bad at videogames

Honestly, I do wonder how they'll handle the manuals for these games. NES games especially aren't just "put game in hit buttons" like modern games. You need that paperwork for the full experience.

Hell, Startropics is part of this list.

It's only now hitting me that there must also be a NES version. Which means the NES versions of Super Mario Bros. 2 and Zelda II. To think I was going to buy a GBA and a JP Zelda II classic release in order to play that version of the game, with flickering graphics; WHEN I CAN JUST BUY A JAPANESE NES MINI FOR THE SAME COST AND GET GOOD GRAPHICS AND A REAL CONTROLLER. JP Zelda II is even crazier than the EN version. That's because the level up system in that game has no EXP stacking. You can choose to level up one stat over and over, and do like a Danger Mario run through the game.

The only catch is that in the Japanese version, when you die in the game, you die for real. I mean that Link's stats all reset to the lowest of the three. So if you do a Danger Mario run and you die, you go back to 1 ATK.

in the VC release, they put this note in their digital instructions that you access through the Wii menu. There was a little button that you click that says "add water" and it reveals the code.

I'm sure they can do something like that again.
