Which one?
>>
>>345211910
Haven't played either of them. My favorite is Wip3out anyway, I still have my physical copy.
>>
Either or.

If you have a PS3 just get HD
>>
>>345212204
what's your take on wip3out vs. wip3out se?
>>
>>345212246
>If you have a PS3
I don't. Just ppsspp and a 360 controller. Otherwise I'd probably go for Fury and call it a day
>>
>>345212318
Haven't played SE yet.
>>
>>345212731
supposed to be wip3out with some classic tracks added and better performance, but I've heard people saying the physics are fucked
>>
>>345212416
pulse on pcsx2 looks interesting, but my hardware can't handle it. So ppsspp it is. Clocked some hours on pure, but pondering if I should give it some more, or switch to pulse. Pulse seem to have this annoying structured single player mode that's typical for modern games
>>
>>345211910
>Pure

Is this referring to what I think it's referring to? Then obviously WipEout Pure.
>>
>>345213118
OPs pic is a reference to the two wipeout games available for psp, called wipeout pure and wipeout pulse
>>
>>345211910
Pure (the first one)
more interesting tracks and that vr/white stage.

Get Wipeout HD on PS3, which takes select content from both games.
>>
>>345213613
I do not have a PS2, PS3 or PS4. I'm asking for the PSP games, because that's what I can play. I do play the original trilogy on the side
>>
>>345213613
Fuck Sony, I'll never forgive them for killing SCE Liverpool.

>Psygnosis has been making WipEout as the launch for Playstation consoles since the very beginning
>change their name and their cool logo to generic SCE Studio Liverpool
>close it

Fuck you Sony. Psygnosis were there since the very beginning and never disappointed, yet Sony killed it.
>>
>>345214015
>*as the launch title
>>
>>345214015
what's the purpose of renaming a studio anyway?
>>
>>345214145
Probably to be part of the recognizable Sony brand instead of an individual name.
>>
>>345213613
>>345214014
>>345214015
I feel like I was the only one disappointed by Sony's E3 conference. Literally cinematic SJW muh feels trash, CoD, Lego Star Wars (seriously) and Crash remasters. Meanwhile actual cool looking games like Gravity Rush 2 were nowhere to be seen. And a new Wipeout game would have been the hypest shit ever had Sony not killed the devs. Oh well, at least I have Nintendo. Sure they only make the same games over and over again but at least they actually make games and not pretentious movie wannabes.
>>
>>345211910
pulse. everything about it is better.
the graphics look more interesting and cleaner. the tracks have leagues of variety in comparison. the music is a better. there are more modes. the gameplay feels more responsive, like they got the kinks outta making a PSP game.

definitely go pulse over pure.
>>
>>345214469
but they were very recognizable at that point already, surly that's got to be worth more than some homogenization? Especially when you're in the business of "creativity"
>>
>>345214538
>the gameplay feels more responsive
I've heard that complaint a few times, pulse does not seem to be much of a wipeout any longer. The crafts grip. They just didn't bother drawing wheels. The most enjoyment I get out of wipeout games is wrestling the uncontrollable. Crafts that have way too much thrust for their own good, and just some flimsy control surfaces to make them dive through the air. "tight" controls are the last thing I'd want on these mad machines

What about 2097?
>>
>>345214868
XL, top center. That was the US name of 2097
>>
>>345214868
>>345214951
what's actually missing is wipEout (1) and Fusion

it's not finished i guess
no dlc or any bullshit
workshop models are working and it has a level editor too

they show a glitch in that video. Craft going through the terrain after going off-track.

Qirex, every time. Their crafts reflect a very typical russian approach to engineering. Very crude, very pragmatic. Not fast enough? Just add more engine. Too heavy? Just add bigger air brakes. They don't give a fuck about reason and balance, and it makes their crafts awesome to race. When you're strapped into the seat and feel the thruster starting up, you know that machine will take no prisoners. Blink just once, and it'll spit you off the track and laugh at you. But that's part of the appeal. Because once you manage to wrestle that beast, you know you're dealing with power. It's just a heaping load of "too much" in every sense of reason and common sense, and I love it. There are more agile crafts, faster ones (barely), friendlier ones, but there's only one insane russian piece of hovering sheet metal.

The future is euro, now and forever.
>>
>>345218395
Feisar is the go-to team if you just can't decide or have no strong opinion one way or another
>>
>>345218557
OR, it's the team you choose if you wanna get through difficult courses without crashing into a good chunk of the walls.
>>
>>345219239
all crafts allow that. It's just the abilities of the driver. Though you basically said "I can't handle one of the more focused crafts", confirming Feisar is the beginner/clueless option. Nothing wrong with having that option in the game, but most people move on and specialize, to harness the extra power of a specialized craft

I've always liked Pure more.
I like the tracks better and the look is way better than Pulse.
Lot's of free dlc for Pure too, which turns it into a big game.
Pulse you have to buy dlc and it's not even much to get.
But I guess you can just pirate them these days.

But I actually prefer Pulse and Pure over HD.
>>
>>345216186
For some reason I've always been attracted to FEISAR even though I rarely play as them.
>>
>>345219662
>I actually prefer Pulse and Pure over HD
now I'm curious, how come?
>>
>>345219946
It's not really a great reason but I never liked HD mixing the identities of Pure and Pulse.
And they really picked some meh tracks out of both games.

HD is still real good and zone and detonator are highlights, but Pulse and Pure feel more like their own games.
>>
>>345220549
fair enough, that makes sense.
I only know HD from screenshots and videos. It's odd for me, in that the game is almost too detailed. wipEout to me is more minimalistic. Very simple models, smooth and focused tracks. All these HD textures and complex models, they made it look less like wipEout.
