It's funny to me that you think this. Zapdos is the only Pokemon of the trio that sees any competitive play. It has SE STAB on both other birds, out speeds both of them, and has a typing that covers one of it's biggest weaknesses instead of doubling it and adding more weaknesses.

Indeed, the default OU set for Zapdos has a guaranteed 2HKO on Articuno and a chance for OHKO on Moltres with Thunderbolt while being faster than both of them.
Articuno can 2HKO Zapdos with Ice Beam but being slower will almost always end up dead first outside of crits or Tailwind or something.
The other two birds also get wrecked by Stealth Rock, Articuno has probably the worst defensive typing possible besides Ice/Grass, and Moltres has a mediocre speed tier and also poor defensive typing.
