All of those are excused by game's general level of writing. Ragnar Tornquist is underrated as FUCK and is probably one of the best writers in the industry who never gets any credit. Longest Journey was amazing but when he writes mysteries he writes fucking mysteries, not that "follow your compass" bullshit. This is why TSW is so amazing if you care about puzzles and adventure games overall.

The entirety of Kingsmouth was great. However the world-building completely falls flat after that.

I felt like some story/design elements did not jive, like the lighthearted inner earth portals with the conductor from Polar Express and a Big Daddy...

Not to mention the backstory behind the black goo, and setting the climax in neo tokyo of all places.

The CONCEPT of Illuminati was interesting, but poorly executed imo. Dragons were just too out of place for my liking. Egypt was too samey.

The only good thing to come out of TOR were those CGI movies which looked absolutely nothing like horrible, ugly, godawful shit the in-game game looked. Pretty sure they cost a pretty penny, too, not ALL of the investment dollars poared into TOR was embezzled by BioWare/EA management.

In GW2 you reach max level super quickly and once you get exotic gear, which is super easy to get, you can do whatever content you want. There is no real gear grind in order to beat harder content like dungeons. The "endgame" in GW2 is about cosmetics and unlocking skins.

From a pve-tryhard's kinda perspective it was also a fucking mess, don't make the mistake of thinking that it was all pandering and no real incompetence. The 40man was unfinished and buggy as fuck, 20man a bit less so but still not great. Even the attunement to play 20man had steps that felt extremely barebones in the sense that they barely worked and were just rather nonsensical, good example being world bosses essentially had very little purpose or reason to be done outside of just kinda being there for the quest. The same went for world content in general, it was wildly more efficient to tank rating in arena and farm losers for chances at amp / ability upgrades (((100% class A retarded system))), the only more retarded piece of out of raid character progression I can think of was getting pvp weapons that were better for pve than anything you got from the pre-raid pve content or heck even the 20man in many cases. And only requiring you to reach their rating once.

Oh and pvp itself was an abysmal mess of no balance and plenty exploits (like the funny macro using a healing trinket enough times to go to full hp before cd triggering), go figure.

TL;DR the problem was that the game aside from veteran dungeons was wet shit even from a pvefag's pov and had essentially nothing to allow a raiding scene/community of its own to grow from, which takes time and accessible content. You don't start by trying to recreate wow t5 era.
