Maybe I'm just nostalgiafagging but Ryan Drummond was a great Sonic to me. Wasn't very goofy or eccentric but really brought out the 90's cool guy aspect of him.
In my opinion the Persona 3 movies were great, they nailed the vibe that you would expect from a animated representation (unlike the P4 TV anime), some could say that excluding social links entirely was a wrong move but it doesn't bugs me.
Also the minor changes here and there were for better, the pace in a video game and animation are different, what is good in one is not in another.
Though I don't think someone can fully enjoy it without playing the game first.

I unironically like these movies, and they get better as they go on.
I went in expecting abject shite, but I was blown away by how much character this movie has. It's hopelessly goofy in how cool it thinks it is. It is edgy in a way you can't do edge today, innocently so.

I want to like that movie more than I do. Luigi's performance is so fucking bad that it makes the movie less enjoyable than it should be, because it's kitschy and kind of stupid and a ton of fun otherwise. Mario's okay, the plot's retarded, the setting is cool as fuck if a bit retarded.

No it doesn't. It's a fucking awful concept and the show is vapid. It has literally nothing to do with Sonic other than name. The only thing it has going for it is some occasionally good humor, but nothing about it works as an actual Sonic show.
Sonic OVA is just about everything a Sonic adaptation should have been. It actually did Sonic justice.
