How does it feels to know the 3DS will be the last Handheld Console ever?
It's a bit sad really, but when you think about it from a economic standpoint, it was bound to happen.
Downsides: LOTS of shit games. Shitty touch controls.
Upsides: Easier entry requirements for devs to release more games. Easier to pirate.

I don't mind. I always play my handhelds at home, so they're just a weak home console. The games could easily be on Wii U's eshop anyways.

Isn't the NX already one? According to all the rumors it can interface with cell phones and junk and it has a portable component you can take with you.
I've gotten to an age where everything to me should just be on PC or consoles by now. Doesn't matter how good a game is, my interest in playing it on a handheld is significantly lower for whatever reason.

That reason is lack of comfort. Why would I want to play on a tiny screen hunched over with controls that are less comfortable than an actual gamepad? It's okay for short periods of time but playing something like an RPG on a handheld is just not doable.

Sony could do that because they have their company to do smarthphones or at least have connections. But nintendo? They needed to make some kinda deal with someone else and that shit takes more money, time, dealing with other people rather than your own and the market itself will look suspicious at a partnership like that.
