I was the opposite.
My father was always playing strategy games, concretely Civilization, Star Wars Empire at War and some Star Trek strategy games, and I liked watching him play those since I was 9 then and I didn't want to bother learning how to play RTS games.
Now all he does is get angry at people in World of Tanks and play his ''Epic'' length match at Civilization V declaring war to everyone.

I recently moved back in with dad to help while he's sick, and my brothers are just like that. Dad played starcraft and Diablo with me as a kid, and from early on he would absolutely fucking annihilate me at starcraft. Like plant cannons outside of my base until it was impossible to do anything. Or drop ghosts on my economy and just nuke me to death. Fuck it was brutal. But now I do it to my brothers.
