But anon, I DO play with mods.
>>
>>345137850
I don't get the same sort of satisfaction out of playing a game I modded
>>
>>345137850
Modding is literally the only way to play some games (I.E Elder Scrolls Oblivion and Skyrim or Fallout 3/NV/4).
>>
>not respecting the developers' design philosophy, intentions or ideas
>tainting them with the 3rd rate trash that is your average modded-in content
It's very rare for mods that aren't outright total conversions to be worth installing. Barring bugfixes like T2fix If you mod a game without having seen the vanilla version inside and out, you're a plebeian, it's as simple as that.

Speaking of Thief 2, there's a game with some actually worthwhile fan content, and I'd still never recommend touching it until you've played through the actual game a couple times on Expert.
>>
>S`eason 2 never
>>
>>345138447
Oh boy you clearly never played any Bethesda game
>>
Depends on the game. Can't play a vanilla TES game, but I'm never touching the beautiful, perfect games like devil may cry
>>
I like playing exactly what I payed for, shit or not.
>>
>>345139228
I'm really not sure why I'd bother.

Anyways, that's a case where it's not important to respect a developers' design philosophy, intentions or ideas, so please feel free to insert your hardcore survival mods and/or bestiality systems.
>>
>>345138765
I know that feel

>wouldn't recommend exploring mods unless you play the entire game through on the hardest difficulties, at least twice.

are you retarded? what is your recommendation based off of, because thats the way you did it?

ive played every Bethesda game vanilla at least two times, and I still had more fun modding all of them over the vanilla game.
>>
I only mod if there are some bugs and or gameplay problems that have a mod not hard to find to fix the issues, after that if i like the game i try total conversion mods if there are any (new map story +whatever else they added) its like getting a free dlc, i dont bother with graphics mods and shit that adds minor changes or whatever, or ones that change alot unless the orginal is really bad
>>
>>345137984

What are the most moddable games? Bethesda games for sure, then gta, minecrafta and doom.
>>
>>345139951
>wouldn't recommend exploring mods unless you play the entire game through on the hardest difficulties, at least twice.
That recommendation is specifically for Thief 2. It's a game-by-game basis; I wouldn't consider someone a pleb if they started playing Project M without even touching Brawl, for example. Another example would be DOOM wads, where you might get a totally different experience anyways.

My recommendation is based wanting to develop an understanding of the vanilla game without preconceptions.

Bethesda games are an exception to this typically sound guideline. Even then you have to be careful about what shit you change.

Modding your game is like throwing together a MUGEN build. You really have to use good judgement or else you're just fucking up.

I'll always play a game without mods first unless you know there's some game-breaking issue which is fixed by some mod, in which case it's not really a mod so much as a patch. Without having played the original game first, I wouldn't know whether a mod makes it better or worse. Some mods are seriously shit. As far as I know, the original game and any given modded version are equally likely to be the better experience, so I might as well start with the one which doesn't require extra work.

Incidentally, once I've finished a game, I usually don't want to play it again unless there's a mod which fundamentally changes the game to the point where replay value is actually added.

If you immediately know upon buying a game that you want to install mods which add gigantic tits and other degenerate features, then you'll probably disagree with all of this.

The context was that all the cops are at a cop convention and they imagine that the criminals are running amok while they're there, but in reality they find peace and start to fix their community.

It's called "irony" you see. It's when something happens that is the opposite of what you expect would happen, it's a very British style of humor, you wouldn't understand it. The British are just so clever and us Americans are so stupid that all of their jokes just fly over our heads. :^)

t. guy that hates Superjail and loves Metalocalypse

Oh okay, sounds like the joke is that the world is a perfect wonderful place with no crime when those EVIL PIGS are off doing something other than HATEFUL OPPRESSION. Typical (((Comedy Central))) programming.

Style Switcher is the only way to play this game, if only because of the number of things it fixes, and various little features it adds like arbitrary resolution support and FoV adjustment. Contrast to other mods like DSFix or anything else by Durante that breaks more things than it fixes.

I love modding Bethesda games, that's why I got a PC in the first place. Doom as well. Usually I'll use graphics stuff if I can, enjoy messing around with SweetFX or ENB in games. The developers behind EDF might add in mod support for 4.1 so if they manage it I'm going to jump in on that.

Many PC games have few or no mods. Some games have either SP or MP emphasized in their modding communities to the point the other has little to no support.

Shit sucks.
