I started playong recently but for me is:

The combat is decent and definitely better than W2, as is gameplay in general (inventory management, controls), but it's clearly not its strong point.

That's not how it works btw. Games should be judged based on the whole, not the sum of its parts. This is a great example of this.
You can clearly see the love put into it by the devs
