They still haven't released the game in Japan, and they haven't added trading or battling with other people. They're going to have a cross promotion with Mcdonalds and possibly other businesses. When in fact, Pokemon Go's only relation to Nintendo is the brand. The idea wasn't theirs. They own 1/3 of a stake in the Pokemon company, and only made about 1/6 of the profits from Go. They didn't push the app before it came out. They were just as surprised by it, and in fact, expect them to not only brag about this, but also give mobile apps a more serious consideration after Go.
And with Miitomo, Nintendo and Dena has shown us just how competent they are at that.
