Dissapointed, i dont think anyones going to defend the price point. I'd like to play the beastmen but fuck paying that.
It has as much as the dwarfs and comes with a 10-20 hour campaign attached plus their own lore of magic and new maps

As I understand it, Beastmen can also be played in the standard grand campaign, but there's also a more focused smaller campaign with only nations relevant to the conflict in it (so the map doesn't extend to chaos wastes and such like, but there's more provinces within that region than there is in the grand campaign).

If Beastmen have their own campaign map how do they function in the other factions campaigns? Does the game just spawn a stack of beastmen when it feels like fucking with you?

They are there in the standard campaign (as AI nation even if you don't have the DLC), the Beastmen campaign is "zoomed in" portion of the standard campaign map with more provinces within the region Beastmen inhabit but no provinces beyond it

They do it to create a more detailed and personal campaign. Just like at R2. The DLC campaigns were a lot better than vanilla, and Napoleon was vastly superior to Empire.
There seriously needs to be more cities in WTW. The Empire is way too sparse.
They have about the same number as Dwarves, if you take out the weapon swaps of Dwarves. Someone did the tally up onleddit.
They are worth paying for as paid DLC, but not as 20 fucking dollars. At best they should be 10, and I would prefer 5. Either way, they are on the map as AI for people who don't buy it which is what I will do. Just play against them till I feel like its on sale enough

As someone who just recently got into WHFB, almost entirely because of Total Warhammer, even I have to agree. All the Sigmar stuff I've seen just looks like they're trying to take the IN SPACE shit out of 40k and make it just as edgy grimdark.

Yes, you can play them in the grand campaign. Co-op grand campaign is probably possible since both legendary lords have different starting positions. One is in the north, one is in the Badlands.
I am glad I held off on my Greenskin playthrough, playing the Badlands with Dwarves, Greenskins and now Beastmen in there will be so much better

in attila a culture pack was 6$, and a campaign 10$, almost everyone buys culture packs but few people buy campaigns, so CA put two and two together and realised that if they bundle the two things (mini-campaign and the race) together you can then pretend that its a "good deal" while jewing your customers

Well the most a vocal community did in this game is get CA and Sega to make the Chaos DLC free for the first week instead of being exclusive to pre-orders.
Put considering SEGA's involved I doubt we'll be seeing them ease up on the DLC screw overs.
I mean just look at how negative the response to Dawn of War III is. And yet the current Relic devs (most of the previous creative heads were fired after SEGA bought them), are being selectively attentive and only paying attention to the positive reactions to the game.
Only way to really convince them to do otherwise is not to buy the DLC. Speak with your wallet basically since that's what they are actually paying attention to.
However, the fact of the matter is that a lot of Warhammer Fantasy fans are starving for their favorite races. And considering we are talking about a hobby where people sometimes spend hundreds on an army (not to mention the single epic units that cost that much alone), this seems really cheap in comparison. I myself am having trouble holding myself back, and I'm the type to despise DLC and pre-order culture.
The amount of waste in AAA studios is disgusting.
