Look, Pokémon was huge in the late 90s. EVERYONE below the age of 14 played it (probably even older people). Even the most normal normies went to watch the Pokémon movies.

Those people are now in their late 20s or early 30s, and they ALL have a smartphone.
They want to get a glimpse back at those blissful days, and Pokémon is a trivial mean of doing so.

As for talks of being dense, I don't get how you fail to understand that my point is that you don't need to have everything with you at all times, just the essential stuff.
