If people play video games on their phones, then what is the problem? Some people dont have time to sit down and play a RPG on consoles or on PC.

For example, Mobile is the biggest video game market in Japan because people have to take the train for 2-3 hours a day! So yeah, they will just play on Mobile. That's why DQ and FF is now on Mobile too.

A smartphone is a goddamn computer. You literally hold the entire knowledge of the human history less than 5 seconds away.

You can communicate via text, which is much better and efficient in 99% of situations and you can take pictures, locate yourself, have a light and do so much more.

How is 99.99999% of the human civilization would not be better with a smartphone if everybody could get one and use one?

Are you some kind of hermit?

That's OK, but a smartphone feels like a half-measure at everything it does. You can technically do some basic computer stuff, but with a tiny touchscreen it'll be inefficient and uncomfortable. You can take pictures if you happen to like pictures that look like ass. You can listen to music on the go with your horrifyingly ear-raping buds. One thing I have to give them credit for is car navigation, not needing a separate device for that is neat.

Text is so much more efficient to transmit information.
"Meet me at 4 pm."
Is MUCH faster than
"RING RING"
"Hello"
"Hello, this is John"
"Oh hi john"
"How you doin?"
....
...

And that's if they can answer. Because of Meetings, Work, or the phone just being dead.
>>
>>345104604
Except that you dont need context 99% of the time
"Buy some milk" do not need to take a 2 minute span. You send the text, and I see it when I see it and can acknowledge it.

I have a Galaxy S6 and the phone's resolution output is higher than the monitors and TV I use for gaming. Records 1080/60 video and the camera quality is ridiculously good for every day use. Having shitty earphones isn't problematic because of the phone, either. I use a €15 pair of decent earphones I got off Amazon or my Seinnheiser headphones if I'm really fussed. It even does vidya emulation well.
>>
>>345103339
IT'S
>>
>>345105161
It totally is. Phones are made to be use outside of your work space. When you cant have a laptop with you.
And it totally work for that. You are at a restaurant and your boss text you to confirm numbers on the spreadsheet you sent him. You connect via your VPN, log in your computer and check the spreadsheet, and confirm it. All under 4 minutes on your phone. That's what it's for.

>>345105198
At work, you dont want to have to say "Hello, how are you" when you need a pen. That's what text is. You say something, and the person can see the message when he want and can answer when he want.

>>345104317
Kid.
Smartphones have GPS which could map out your daily routine, if someone has that information they could not only know where you've been but know where you are going to be.
For people here who spend most of their time at home (Or at work) their commute time is low and there's no reason to fill it with yet another internet-device when most of their time is already spent on their laptop/computer which are superior to phones anyway.
Having the internet always there makes things boring, leaves out struggles, or getting lost, or talking to other people for information. Or finding your way on your own.
And ultimately it's a choice.

You might be surprised, but not all jobs require you to communicate with other people, and in some jobs a radio is all you need. Cops, for instance, don't call each other or the dispatcher on phones.

Maybe I don't need a computer in my pocket, but rather a phone.

Pokemon the First movie Official Sound track
Tiger Electronic's Pokedex
Thinkway electronic battle stadium
All those holo-flip cards from the cereal boxes.
Lots of mini gaschapon figures they used to just sell at mom and pop stores.
Lots of chinese fake TCG cards that you got in vending machines for $.25
The burger king promotionals, 3 of the gold plated cards Mewtwo Pikachu and Poliwhirl, The pokemon 2000 animated cards on stands, and some of the plush/toys
Pokemon Master Trainer board game, Monopoly, and Sorry.
Lots of various Prima strategy guides, and english editions of Pokespe before I kenw what "Manga" was.

What? The point of a Swiss Army Knife or a Smartphone is to have what you need when you dont expect to need it.

If the power goes out in your home, you just pick up your phone and you have a Torch.
If you get into a crash, you have a phone.
If you get lost in the forest, you have a GPS
If you need to know if that mushroom is edible, you take a picture of it and it will tell you if it is.

The point is that you carry ONE item that can do everything else when you dont have access to everything else. A swiss army knife is less useful than everything else, but when you go in the forest, you want to carry the less amount of weight possible.

No he's right, most people playing this game wouldn't be playing if it didn't catch on like it did. Most people will drop it after 3rd even 2nd Gen comes out.

It might just be where I live but you guys have such a skewed view of the world.

My sister is a stacy and I talk to her friends and such and I kind of came to the conclusion that, about 10% of people are the "fuck that nerdy shit type why would anyone play anything other than call of duty/madden or even play video games" type of people, most people are in general down to try anything regardless of if it's considered nerdy, out there or the like.

It doesn't matter that 5% of the population actively likes pokemon, Pokemon Go is a success because 85% of people are willing to try it.

If you properly prepare for whatever it is you're planning to do, and do so on a regular basis, you won't find yourself needing something you weren't expecting to need.

>If the power goes out in your home, you just pick up your phone and you have a Torch.
Or you could take your emergency flashlight that you've got for just such a task, and have something that's more powerful and lasts longer than any smartphone light, unless you fucked up and got a cheap, shit one.

>If you get into a crash, you have a phone.
You have that with a regular mobile phone as well. And since mobile phones are less fragile in general and some come specifically designed for maximum possible durability that far outdoes anything a smartphone can offer, you're more likely to still have a functioning phone after a crash if it's not a smartphone.

>If you get lost in the forest, you have a GPS
If you're lost so badly you need a GPS, you'll probably want one that will work for more than an hour or two, depending on how powerful your phone's battery is. Any decent dedicated GPS can work for way longer than that.

>If you need to know if that mushroom is edible, you take a picture of it and it will tell you if it is.
If you find yourself in a situation where you must rely on eating raw mushrooms and you failed to prepare for that by looking up the most common edible local varieties before fucking off into the woods or at least packing a survival guide with you, then you fucked up big time due to being overly reliant on technology in the first place.

>The point is that you carry ONE item that can do everything else when you dont have access to everything else.
My point is that something that is good for everything is most likely good for nothing.

Look, Pokémon was huge in the late 90s. EVERYONE below the age of 14 played it (probably even older people). Even the most normal normies went to watch the Pokémon movies.
You are excused, if you were significantly older or not born yet.
Those people are now in their late 20s or early 30s, and they ALL have a smartphone.

They want to get a glimpse back at those blissful days, and Pokémon is a trivial mean of doing so.
This is why this app is so ridiculously successful despite being bad and wasting a lot of potential as a game.

Because they make sure you have a way to get a job done even if you were not prepared to it.

If I was lost in the woods and for some reason didn't have my knife or phone with me, then by all means I'd use the swiss knife or smartphone. Any tool is better than no tool at all. I'd probably take them anyway for backup purposes.

And yes, you cannot have everything with you at all times, but as I've mentioned before, you don't need to have everything with you at all times, because that's where preparation comes in. And if you get screwed because you weren't properly prepared, then you've got nothing but yourself to blame.

I don't understand why people are so anti pokemon go. It's a way to get cunts out of their houses, nobody is swapping real games for pokemon go, it's just something that's easy to digest and fun to walk the dog whilst playing or walk with your gf

Come on /v/ don't be so autistic for once in your life
