I didn't touch that hot mess at release, but when it went buy2play, instead of subscription based, I checked it out.
Its the only MMO where the quests are actually fun, and you follow along the story.
It doesn't feel like an MMO, though, unless you go do MMO things, like a dungeon boss, or the oblivion fractures, or go to Cyrodil for PvP.
PvP is fun, but kind of lame, theres some incentive to do it, but I'm into older style PvP like Ultima Online, I need loot drops off players.
All in all, its actually a pretty decent game today.

I've enjoyed old games though. I've beat both System Shocks and when my Dad was still around we'd go up to the mall to play the old namco midway arcade games. It doesn't bother me that it's old, it's just so damn slow. The swing swing miss miss combat would be tolerable early on if you could maneuver at all.
