DC by a small margin.
>>
Director's Cut by a lot. Fixes all the problems I had with it. My only complaint is I wish you could optionally skip Missing Link. I've done ML once and I have no desire to ever do it again.
>>
DC made the dlc feel right

Also stealth

Original.
DC fucks up lighting and reintroduces bugs which got fixed in the original.
If you want to reduce the piss filter you can do that yourself with sweetfx.
>>
depends on the platform really

on pc definitely the original one because better performance

i also prefer the piss filter in the original

Thanks anon appreciate it

Director's cut is overburdened with numerous issues which still haven't been fixed, namely constant frame drops.
>>
Missing Link was such a fucking slog, it really wrecked the pacing for me. Put the game down for like 2 months before doing Pangea and I didn't really care at that point. I hate it when games take away all your shit, delevel you and then introduce a bunch of characters you don't care about that send you on a bunch of fetch quests and backtracks. The shopkeeper illuminati guy was alright I guess.

>>
>>345088498
They still do in the DC, adding more vents doesn't really change the outcome.

>>345088468
That's because DC is made on the engine variant used on the WiiU, this is why there's no reflection in the game too. I have no fucking idea how they lost the original version at such a short time but that's Eidos Montreal for you.
>>
I liked the piss filter. DC just looks really drab in comparison and highlights the poor quality textures instead.
>>
>>345088485
No one ever said you had to play it during the main game
>>
Played both, didn't notice any glaring issues with either. No framedrops on DC either, and my computer is not cutting edge (Radeon 6870, 4GB RAM, i5 2500k).

DC has all the DLC integrated into the game, developer commentary, tones down the yellow filter, and adds more vents and such around boss fights. I did have a bug with a quest in DC where an event didn't trigger, though you could bypass the bug by just going straight where you would be sent by that event anyway.
>>
>>345088485
In the DC it' mandatory. It's between Hengsha 2 and Malaysia.
>>
Played DC a year ago, don't regret anything
>>
DC runs worse and takes away the piss filter which all the retards complained about on release without realizing it was a huge part of the game's art direction and the atmosphere is badly affected by its absence.

The ultimate edition had all the pros of the Director's Cut, but none of the cons

Lighting is still the same, reflections are there, atmosphere isn't ruined by the lack of piss filter, and the engine isn't the modified one used in the Ultimate Edition, it's the original one
Still, the game has all the fixes of the standard version (so no new bugs from the Definitive), plus The Missing Link, and all the preorder mission/ammo packs, the Explosive Expansion and the Tactical Enhancement

You also get the artbook, a documentary, the comic (animated), the soundtrack and a few extras (like the storyboard)

I know, I liked the pissfilter. It's suits the game's style. I wonder how much of the hate for filters is genuine preference and how much is bandwagoning.
>>
>>345098214
The filter was just an easy thing for retards with no critical thinking skills to latch on to. It's not easy to articulate or even explain issues you have with a game that has no real glaring flaws, but it's real easy to go HUUURRRRR PISS FILTER.
>>
>>345088498
They stay ass but at least you don't have to make sure to have weapons for them beforehand. You can just hack something most of the time for the boss to die.

>>345094818
Except we're not. The last referendum two decades ago was pretty close but at this point most people don't give a shit. Evidenced by the fact that we threw out the last government when they started talking about it. They lost by a landslide. Said party then fell into disarray and are probably never going to recover.

The rise of the internet killed Quebec's independence movement, good riddance. The only people who still want it are the 50 years old hicks in rural areas.

I dunno about the Wii U version.
It's how I played the game, and while the Gamepad use was really cool, it had it's flaws.
First, the loadtimes were fucking awful, which became more and more unbearable as the game went on.
Same with the framerate. It started out fine, but it got worse as the game progressed. In The Missing Link segment, the part where the boat is filling up with case literally has frequent drops to around 5fps. I already disliked the DLC, but that just made finishing it so god damn obnoxious.
>>
>>345088698
Damn Eidos is shit. Cut not only lots of content but also the original?
>>
forcing the missing link DLC into the main story was a mistake

I have a hard time choosing what version to replay before Mankind divided. I know the DC has gameplay fixes and stuff like that, but I also know it has several downgraded textures and lighting effects ETC. As far as I remember the reason the DC has downgraded visuals is cause the "upgrade" is all based on the ps3/xbox360 ports, so the textures remain console tier. Any tips? Can the DC or the original be modded for an optimal version.
>>
Tough choice. Director's cut fixes bosses, but it adds absolutely insufferably shit level that's very long and mandatory to play.
>>
>>345098214
most of it is bandwagoning as retards don't even know what the piss filter is.

>>
>>345100479
Have same dilemma. I launched it recently and noticed some textures being lower quality.
>>
>>345100971
it was fun when it was DLC played after the game. It ruins the pacing of the game when tacked in the middle.
>>
>>345100971
Missing Link works well standalone but when actually jammed into the game it feels like a long, shitty level with little relevance to the story.
Nobody likes getting their shit taken away for a level that literally doesn't matter.
>>
>>345101131
how? it is direct link which should have been there to being with
>>
Missing Link is boring and adds nothing to the story.
>>
>>345100971
I have no idea who those "us" are that liked it, that level is terribly designed in every way possible, have pointless story and serves no purpose for the game itself. Maybe back when it came out as a DLC people haven't played the game for some time and were glad to have little addendum to it, but when this shit is stuffed right between two very tense story-wise missions and have you depowered standing in the damn loading areas a whole bunch, it breaks the fuck out of the game.

I don't get all the hate for Missing Link. It gave me MGS1 flashbacks, in a good way. Being stripped of all your tools made you get creative in ways you otherwise wouldn't have.

Was the story bad? Because I played it so long ago I just don't remember.

>>

its shit because its backtracking constantly through one area and waiting for long ass scanners used to disguise load times
>>
>>345102841
I know. WHY WERE THEY SO SLOW?
>>
>>345102841
And that was goddamn retarded. Oh lah-dee-dah you made this whole level look like it's a single thing, except every one of those scanners take twenty times more to finish than it takes to load up the level from my fucking SSD.
>>
>>345103052
Because that's how long it takes a console to load the level.
>>
>>345103052
Because they were literally unloading everything behind you, and then loading everything in front of you. Same thing they did with those decontamination chambers towards the end of the game.

I won't defend them being so long though. I guess the thought walking through a door and hitting a loading screen was too jarring or some shit.
>>
>>345103229
What's jarring is having a big-ass progression stopper instead of a loading screen that actually LOADS
