Yeah it's really bad, Insomniac did some real wizardry with mipmaps to maximise performance. Unfortunately PCSX2 really doesn't like custom mipmaps and fucks them up completely in hardware mode. You need a powerful computer to run them in software mode and that still runs in 480i/480p.

People say that Deadlocked was the start of the series' decline, but honestly the real start was Up Your Arsenal.

It was the start of where Quark became too big of a focus and became a total joke rather than a genuinely clever but horribly misguided fool, where the game's tone always was OH ITS SO SERIOUS NOW GUYS SEE EVEN THE MUSIC IS FILLED WITH EPIC AND SUPER TENSE SCORE, and let's not forget how fucking useless the Galactic Rangers were. Also the start of Ratchet-getting-a-girlfriend-in-every-fucking-game pandering.

UYA was one of the best, but it absolutely set the tone afterwards, and that's exactly how we got ToD.

The logic was probably that they were still in the mindset of the nanotech circles from RC1 (but broken down into quarters and significantly more of them). But then I guess they realised it's much more practical to use a linear bar when the health is a high number
