Neither Ryu nor Roy have Super Mario Maker costumes yet despite being released for months now, which is weird since Squid Sisters and Wolf Links costumes were released before the Amiibos were released. Roy isn't even third party so I don't even know what the delay could be.
I know it isn't happening, but I would love some more MK8 costumes. The Pac-Man and Mega Man costumes are the shit.
Will there be a Shovel Knight costume? The game just came out in Japan a couple weeks ago and he already has an amiibo.

I have a theory that since all we know is that they're supposed to be out by end of year is that they'll make announcements to coincede with the releases of the amiibos.
Said releases will be related to 2 partnerships with Platinum games and Square Enix for NX launch window and a new Fire Emblem announcement for NX launch window.
This will give people plenty of time to be hype for both these 3 amiibo and the Zelda BotW amiibo which will launch early next year with BotW and the other amiibo will have initial sellouts for holiday and then sellout again when those partnership titles and the new FE come out.
