Is there any other publisher which has a more flawless combination of gameplay, art, writing, music, and world building? Seriously, what the fuck is up with Supergiant that they keep both innovating the narrative form of videogames while still keeping them incredibly fun?

Because they probably got way out of scope and had to cut down.
I could have seen Transistor being a massive game.
But isn't it how it always starts out? Developers make a few really good games in the begging and then take a massive nose dive in quality.

it's an inferior version of bastion with a far worse story (bastion is one of the top 5 game stories of all time), worse characters, worse music, worse/less interesting environment, and worse gameplay.
They literally regressed in every way from Bastion, which was made on probably 1/4 the budget.

Yeah you're probably right. I liked the game, but just when I was truly getting comfortable with the combat.. it was over. Would've been cool if it was a few hours longer, but I guess they didn't have the budget or whatever.

I didn't like it personally, although from what someone said in a different thread it's probably because I just really, really don't like romance in games.
Combat wise it was okay, but it never felt difficult, even with the modifiers on. It might just be because of how short the game was though. Final boss was pretty neat though.
