Got to the end of the second level where you escape the prison on motorbikes, whilst an army of Ruskies in their infinite wisdom think the coolest thing to do would be to tail us using the same motorbikes that we are as well as helicopters and trucks made of tin foil.

Fuck man, I played the absolute shit of the Wii version (which in terms of content and features kept from the original version, running on a system with a fraction of the horsepower is imo one of the best ports ever made, period).
I made a name of myself on the Wii section of the forums as well. The smaller playerbase also meant we commongoers were more tight-knit, and I spent countless hours playing with them and just shitposting on there before I even knew what shitposting was.
I wish I could back to those times. Nowadays I'm bitter about everything and lost contact with those people. The period where this game was most active was probably the comfiest time of my life.

A lot of the magic of the Blops story comes from the surprises, so it just wouldn't be the same going through the second time when you know exactly what happens.
Some levels like Kowloon could have used more fleshing out, but there isn't much to significantly improve without being tacky.

Huge weapon selection, and support streaks were great for getting nice rewards even if you weren't terrific at staying alive.

Sure you had launchers, but a good gunner would immediately fucked your shit up before you got a lock.
Ghosts is one of the best Call of Duty's where they managed to balance the guns, perks, killstreaks. But it gets really shit on because of the horrible map design maps and how it was just a fine tuning of modern warfare.
Plus it had some criminally underrated campaign levels like Federation Day, Clockwork and Atlas Falls.

I logged back one of these days to pass some time and saw online like 1000 people flat. It was kinda sad, I had a great time when it came out but with it being on the console it was it was only natural it would eventually die down.
Living on the land of gallo pinto makes me have a shit connection 99% of the time as well, so I just kinda gave up on it when it started to drop in playerbase.
A bit unrelated, but I found it super strange when they added Nuketown just one day, no announcement, no explanation, on a random ass day long after the support was done.
There was a time where I was a deadshot with the wiimote but I'm rusty as shit these days. I'd add you if I were confident I'll play it again anytime soon but I doubt it. It's just a little surreal to find someone that actually played the WiiU version here.

It is fucking dead where it's between 200-400 online. Only game mode alive all the time is TDM with people going into Search & Rescue, infected and domination.
I'm a bit biased towards Ghost over Black Ops II because Treyarch royally buttfucked wiimote users in Black Ops II by completely disrupting how the IR sensor functions with the game and never fully patched it. (So your aim might not sync up with the game or jump around randomly when you ADS.) while giving normal controllers the most powerful Aim assist in any Call of Duty game. It's why Quick scoping became such a blight in BOII.
As I said before the crap map design really promotes camping, but the nice thing is there are some hard counters for that like pic related. Play with a few good teammates and you'll make sure no camper gets a kill streak above 5 and basically stomp them.

Am even playing now. The play base last year was 2000. When nuke town update came about it was about 3500 max. That was highest at the time which was in the summer of 2014. The summer of 2016 player base is small as fuck.
Most players moved on to other coneoles because on the lack of dlc. It got old and boring playing the same ten maps over and over again. Some people got annoying of the wii remote users. Some even sold the wii u's or the copy of the games.

The nice thing about Ghosts is to unlock everything is you earn tokens while playing and doing challenges. (You're going to earn at least 2 tokens a match.) And weapons and attachments aren't locked behind a level so you can unlock what you want from the start if you have the tokens.
The other big thing is you get different characters you level up for each prestige instead of just restarting from scratch every time and you can customize what they wear based on what you have unlocked.
It's light years ahead of the Pick 10 system

Never played CoD before, but I am actually hyped for the new one. I want a MP, non-team based shooter on the PC that is polished, has decent tick and easy to jump in and out of.
I understand fans are not too excited with the direction the series is going in but as somebody who has a) never played CoD before and b) loves space science fiction, I think this is something I can get behind.
