I'm playing through Dark Souls for the first time right now, when is this game's biggest difficulty spike? I recently got an adapter for a Wii U controller and while adjusting to the controls I died to the Taurus Demon like 3 times, but I wouldn't consider that anything other than a minor irritation. I've seen plenty of things that ought to have killed me, like the dragon ambush, doorways that have an enemy in plain view while another hides to the side to stab you in the back once you engage the first, cliffs with several undead that try to push you toward the edge, you get the idea. Despite all that I haven't died to much just by playing cautious, and I'd wager most of my future deaths are going to come from unexpected ambushes or just not understanding a boss' moveset or threat capability. I know this isn't the hardest game out there, but hell, this isn't even the hardest game I've played. When do things get difficult?

Same, I'm playing Demon's Souls right now and other than being lost in a couple of levels, it's no big deal. Especially after you grind, which gives you a huge advantage.
Honestly, I'd rather have the game remove experience points and have a good difficulty curve. But then again, that would make it less replayable since there wouldn't be a need for a different build.

The only way I can see this game being hard is if I seriously fuck up a build and completely refuse to try any other strategies when I get really stuck. I can see the frustration in having to go get all your stuff back once you die (which is inevitable), but that's something I'd consider tedious, not exactly difficult. The whole "Dark Souls is hard" thing HAS to come from people either trying to rush through the game or total retards, because I'm not seeing it yet.
