Honestly, the only thing it really needs is the ability to skip any and all cutscenes and text. That would make it much less of a chore to replay it when you don't have to listen to the inner monologues of Samus or the ramblings of Adam. Hell, have a little box you tick in the options where it just lets you outright skip all cutscenes and text and Navigation rooms are simply like Chozo Statues in Zero Mission where they update your map where you need to go and it lets you.

I want a sequel to Fusion too but Sakamoto is not going to put any Prime lore into the main series. Whatever comes after Fusion will be completely original. I do know one thing, chances are it will deal with Samus, the Chozo going by ZM, the GF, and possibly the Metroid in some way cause you can't have a mainline Metroid without a Metroid in some way. I don't know if the X will return due to Samus losing the Metroid DNA and the X being vaporized on both the station and the planet.
