I think people look at the big picture so much that they forget that when 2 came out, everything that happened in it made perfect sense. Well, more specifically, there are minimum and maximum damage caps for bosses, so you don't have to take hours to beat a single boss. They might take slightly longer, but not to a ridiculous degree. That's why people only recommend level 1 in KH2, the others don't really have that cap iirc.

Something the game never tells you is that in KH1FM, being at level 1 actually gives you Second Chance though you can't see it. You cannot be killed in 1 hit, as long as you're full health you can only be brought down to 1 hp. And you clearly as doing more damage than normal because there's no way you can beat some of the bosses you fight as quickly as you can if you actually had the equivalent of level 1 stats.

They always disappoint me with the soundtracks. Instead of the movies' music for most/all of each world's soundtrack it's one theme over and over for the overworld and that's it. Port Royal is the only world where the enemy theme is from the movie, and none of the villains except for Chernabog have their songs/letmotifs. It's both saddening and annoying.

The games are still fun although the worlds are unfortunately empty now and the story is in the half-Xehanort/7 Soras shitter. I still enjoy the games especially the weird moments were the anime personalities of the KH characters clashes with the fairy tale-like Disney characters. Shit like in BBS where the Fairy Godmother talks about how wishes make dreams come true and Terra says effort is what makes dreams come true only to get brushed off for breaking the Disney narrative is entertaining.

I think Black Hole would work as the last Disney world before you go to Xehanort's stornghold. The black hole would turn out to be the entrance to the secret place Xehanort was hiding in, Heartless would be drawn to it because it's the ultimate darkness, and running around the Cygnus fighting soldier robots and space-themed Heartless would be cool, especially to that haunting soundtrack. And tell me a boss battle with Maximilian on a damaged Cygnus being pulled into the black hole wouldn't be awesome.
