This game is an empty procedural sony scam, with shallow gameplay, "different" monsters that only consist of recoloring the same monster. It has no goals, no multiplayer, no endgame, and to top it all off it's a boring walking simulator. What do I get OP?

It's an empty procedurally generated world with no content. The game is backed by Sony because they know a good scam when they see one. It has shallow gameplay due to there being no goal other than exploring the same recolored world over and over. The multiplayer will be boring and the game has no endgame.

>>

>and world changes are not even perminant.

False.

This is just a dumb misunderstanding based on people who don't understand how procedural generation works in regards to loading.

Sean said when you leave a planet and come back, it gets reloaded, as in, the random seed that generates planets and such "rolls" for what output to produce, but since it's using the same seed, the output will be the same as the original output, plus the changes made by the player.

It's litterally the same way minecraft works with loading and deloading chunks, and it still saves your changes.

This is just the modern day version of those "16 million games in 1!" bullshit cheap-o "gameboys" that your clueless aunt got you when you were a kid. The pattern may be more complex, but as soon as you see it the magic will be lost, and you'll see just how many real "games" (to stretch the analogy) there really are. I guarantee it will be less than 100 truly unique worlds. Probably far less.

I've seen trailers and I've seen scripted demonstrations.
I haven't seen anyone go loose on this game.
I haven't seen anything longer than 20 minutes of Sean slowly trudging around one planet before switching off.

I can't be excited for this until I see someone actually play it without restrictions.

Did you know the borderlands advertizing was a blatant lie? 2k is literally nothing but liars and faggots.

No demo you have seen so far accurately portrays this game, they are all heavily rehearsed and recorded in pre-made worlds to ensure it shows the game at it's best. You have no idea what this game is like yet.

You're right, there was a closed doors demo given to a group of journalists a few months ago. They all had PR men over their shoulders the entire time and were allowed to roam that exact same ice planet Sean showed in the latest IGN video.
They only had 20 minutes to play which wasn't enough time to upgrade the ship to leave the planet and find somewhere else to explore.
In the end none of them could tell us anything new about the game.

Actually, it was severals planets they were allowed to visit, and before that demo, I don't think the NPC interactions, monoliths like pic related and aliens languages were revealed.
>>
>>344973654
It's lacking hard in the fun department
>>
>>344978936
Those were intentional reveals, the journos didn't discover them, they were shown them directly.
Sean gave them the same tour he later gave IGN, where he blew open a hole into an underground cave and sheltered there for warmth and then went to a building to show the alien and hack a computer. He did all of that at the press event before doing the exact same things for a public video.

It will be a void, randomly generated world that is made by the same guys who allowed The Order 1886 and Ghostbusters (2016) to happen. Furthermore, it looks kinda fishy, for its depthless exploring and trading system might be just a change on the color palette of the same fucking planet over and over again. Also, this game has no objective or story, you cannot actively cooperate or fight with other people and has no further purpose after all the mechanics have been uncovered.

Thus, I'm pretty sure it will be a very bo~, I mean, unfun, game.

Simply because its an empty ,"procedurally" generated scam with shallow gameplay where all planets are the same just with a recoloring of textures. There is no goal and multiplayer will get stale in no time at all. The endgame is going to be boring.

What exactly is so fun about this type of game? I personally prefer a game where every part is carefully planned and crafted so that it offers you the maximum possible level of enjoyment instead of a game that's generated randomly and where you have to find your own fun things to do.
>>
>>344984873
If you leave the atmosphere everything resets if I recall, so if you want to explore that first planet then yes you will have to fly around it for 50 hours without leaving.
