I don't know honestly. I'm playing Bloodborne for the first time at the moment, I guess it's pretty creepy. The squid headed dudes in Forbidden Woods freaked me out when they started appearing.
I've been thinking about trying The Secret World again too, but didn't get around to it.
Fuck me, /v/. How do I get into horror games? I've only ever played some indieshit. Stuff with pale ghost ladies or mental asylums doesn't really do it for me and that's all I ever see in these games. The last genuinely good unsettlnig game I played must've been 2.22 AM or The Static Speaks My Name and that was a while ago

I kind of agree with you, but on the other hand, if it went on too long, it might've wasted its shock value.
I also really wish more devs tried going for that minimalist graphics style. The low-poly models and solid colors work very well with these sort of small, weird games.
