I'm looking for an ultra 1080p 60fps machine that's a bit future proof, if there's anything I can change or fat I can trim that the eye of the experienced can see that I can't please lay it on me.

highly recommend 16 gigs of ram. if you're using windows 10 itll eat even all of that up at times. i think for $300 you can find a better GPU than a 970 at this point but I haven't checked. If you can spring for a bigger HDD do it, 1 tb isn't shit and it will fill up very fast.

I don't know about the 970, it was good at the time, still good now, but it's going to be dated soon. FIne if you have one though I wouldn't recommend it new. I'd say get a 1070, or if you want something cheaper get a 480 or wait for the 1060. Heck even a 390 would be fine if you found one on sale.

Gonna be tricky. PC optimization is at an all-time low nowadays, so what could work fine for one game, it won't work for another. Case in point, Arkham Knight. It was widely considered to be one of the worst PC ports of all time, with severe performance issues and disabled graphical features. Then Black Ops 3 was released, which made Bamham look like Devil May Cry 4.
