The only thing that's irritated me is the blade turbines in Dynatron's stage. Have to inch next to them almost perfectly before doing the crouch dash or it'll kill you. That is flat out bad design but can't think of anything else.
There are other good things in this game.
The character design for everyone is great. The music is good, too fucking bad the audio mixing is terrible. The gameplay and focus on beating your high-score is good (and so are most of the weapons), too bad most levels are pretty shitty and filled with cheap deaths.

That was pretty bad. The worst for me was Sniper Man's stage, because I thought the idea was good but the stage was boring. No checkpoints meant the actual stage difficulty was nerfed, but it still had instant death traps that made you slog through it again if you got impatient.

As someone who actually played and beat the game, heres my thoughts:
The levels feel very weak to me. Some of them are okay, like Avi's ,Brand's and Mic's, but the rest just feel empty and unengaging. There are even some parts that break gameplay flow completely like the crouchdash spinning purple spike bullshit in Dyna's stage. But even the three mentioned above feel bit empty or just played out. And EVERY level feels short. On first playthrough I was getting to each boss in about 4 minutes. Except the last level which is just a very annoying mess of layout and monster placement.
The actual gameplay is fine. Its nothing new or special, but its solid. Shoot things, dash around, transform, jump around, repeat.
The bosses are a bit boring, especially if you have the transformstion they are weak to, in which case they die in about 20 seconds. But even without, they have very small movesets that are very simple. Dyna was the most annoying just because literal RNG could spell your end, but she wasnt difficult.
Call's level was boring and her gameplay is boring. Its slow as shit. Her boss battle is also easy as fuck.
Monsters are the same pretty much all game with maybe 1 or 2 differences per stage but overall the same throughout.
Overall, I'd say its playable sure, but its not replayable at all even with "challenges." You might enjoy it once, but after that? Uninstall. Theres no fun to be found in a redo.
If youre someone who is good a megaman, breeze through it in 2 or 3 hours tops if youre slow. If you expected a good game, look elsewhere. This one does not do its spiritual predecessor justice at all, and really does just feel empty and uninspired.

The levels all look the same. Quick: tell me the level that had blue/grey metal corridors. Because they ALL do. The backgrounds are a little different, but it's very super ficial.

Only way to fix the lighting are on the prototypes, unless someone makes a mod that allows you to use debugging features.

7 and 8 are pretty bad. A lot of people grew up with them, and so they have rose tinted view of them. I got 8 and I really tried to convince myself I liked it. But then I went back to 1-6 and there's just no comparison. The weakest Famicom Mega Man is 20 times better than 7 or 8.

Classic series died from 1998-2008. Then it went back to being dead. Meanwhile the X series and other games kept being made. And yes, the X series had yearly shitty sequels.

Because that's true about Mega Man 2 where everybody would fellate it ignoring all of its shortcomings. 7 and 8 get a lot of hate, most of it completely unjustified. MM's sprite is too big, and his feet are huge. It makes platforming really awkward. The art style is very disney, and cartoony. MM looks like a lifeless doll. It just doesn't have the exciting fast paced action and precision of previous games. It's just not very good. it's the weakest of the classic series.
