The console versions were never updated......that's about it

I really didn't like how they got characters like Football manager got in as well as Yogscast and Danica Patrick.
Of all the characters you have from Sega's games they choose people no one gives a crap out, I'd even settle for Miku but not fucking TF2 or Yogscast.

Seems like SEGA has no interest in a sequel. Sumo would love to work with them again.
It's the best kart racer I've ever played. Admittedly I haven't played a ton, but this game shits all over Mario Kart.
I guess the biggest downsides are that it can be buggy at times, and it has a higher skill ceiling/floor, so it's a lot harder to actually play it in multiplayer, as you will frequently stomp or get stomped by the other player.

Mario Kart is really pick up and play.
I see All Stars Racing as more of an Arcade racer than a kart game which probably explains why it can be a little difficult at times. especially A rank races. I can play Mario Kart for about 10 minutes at a time where as this game I could play for hours.

They intentionally keep it that way to try and keep the skill ceiling low. In the interest of multiplayer, they try to make it so that a really skilled player won't perform leagues better than the rest, thereby making it boring for both players.
Personally I'd rather have a robust single player mode than gimped shallow gameplay just so my sister would feel a little more involved. Or they could bring back double dash mechanics where less skilled players can just be the rear player
