Bought pic related today and it's pretty fucking hard. I did the first Buffy mission with the French bitch, died and then was forced to go back to a previous save that was way back at the Villa. Any tips for playing the game? What's good equipment to buy/use?

only tip I can give you is to keep new weapons as much as possible and not to use old rusty ones, scour the world for diamonds/do side missions and buy your own at the safehouse
also I guess stick to whatever limited cover there is and dont run in the middle of packs

malaria is piss easy to counter, but I remember being able to edit it out myself

We have almost exactly same looking Collie.
God do we love it, Collie's are right up there with the Golden Retriever as the best dogs to have. Smart and atleast our dog makes the attempt to communicate.

This is one of my favorite games of all time, even with all the tedious things.
Do the weapon missions first, that helps a lot.
I usually use snipers and the flamethower.
If you have the GOTY edition you can use the utility truck, to clear out checkpoints.

This game actually has some pretty useful stealth. As long as you crouch and stay put the enemy won't be able to pinpoint your exact location and the stealth suit helps a lot. My set up was the grenade launcher for secondary, MP5 for primary and Dart Rifle for long distant sneaky breakery. But also Suppressed Makarov/ AK/ and RPG work. Also F5 every is your friend.
