Doubt it. It's being co-developed by square enix so I don't think it'll have lolis. By "co-developed" i mean they literaly licensed the final fantasy 14 engine for the game to reduce dev costs and push it out faster.

It failed because it was fucking boring. There was nothing in that game that captured what was good about SMT. It discouraged using multiple demons and fucking fusion by making their costs not worth it at all. The gameplay was ass. The content got old fast.

Shugo Chara does lend itself well to the MMO format
it's a series where characters power up from guardian ghosts, but their guardians can change into completely different guardians throughout the story, and some characters have even more than 1 (the main character has 3)
seems sort of easy to make an mmo out of that concept. the problem is shugo chara catered to girls (and not even the fujoshi audience mind you). how are they going to market a girl's IP to the Persona audience?

I don't know shit about the IP, but what you described with the evolutions sounds like it'd slot into the typical mobge format perfectly. Then again, if they're using 14's engine, they probably want to do something along the line of that game's job system.
I loved the hell out of 14's job system, but without knowing more details, it's hard to know if this is a great idea, or another DoA MMO. Either way, if OP is legit, it's pretty awesome that they're actually funding the hobby and probably making some Dev's week.
