Not much to discuss, the left is insanely better.
There's many reasons why, but just two off the top of my head: there's a distinction between women and girls, and each girl looks really unique.
The remake's art is forgettable, samey and has some terrible design decisions. Fishnets on Eriko, for fucks sake? Weirdly designed ZR-thigh highs on Mio when it doesn't really fit the setting? Why would you?
The only issue you could have with the left is that sometimes the eyes are a bit large, that's all.

the clothing in some cases looks better, but in most cases looks bland as fuck now
sense of depth is lacking in the new stuff, and playful specular is almost completely missing and is instead replaced with boring gradients of white where they want the viewers attention to be directed to most
composition is slightly improved in some of the new stuff, but in most cases it just feels too far away. the intimacy is lost
also everyone in the new ones looks malnourished
i prefer the original, if just for the hair and more in-your-face clothing.
the new ones do have some better color choices though, of course that's not a hard change to make since the original is a rather limited color palette

It's probably more that the remake was either meant to be an "all-ages" (ie console) version or meant to have both an all-ages and porn version and thus they wanted to minimize the number of CGs they had to make two versions of.
It's honestly pretty interesting seeing the two side-by-side and how they reflect the changes in both VN trends (both the all-ages thing and the fact that we can see the protag's eyes, as examples) and fashion.
