Honestly, I'd put DMC4 up a tier with DMC3. DMC4 had a more polished combat system due to improved mechanics. I felt the gameplay hit its peak with DMC4. Much of these complaints are nearly negligible since the series' strong point has always been the stylish gameplay.

Well strictly talking about the combat, then yeah DMC trumps GoW.
Games like DMC and Bayo have always to me seemed more like a fighting game and a beat em up mixed together. The combat is the only focus, but instead of on 1 AI opponent it's on many at once, then you get a big boss.
GoW takes a bit of that but also adds stuff from platformers and adventure titles like collecting shit, exploring and doing puzzles. It's a more full experience, but with the loss of a more in depth combat system.
I really don't think the games should be compared. The audience is 2 different markets. If you like GoW you probably don't care to much about in depth combo's, and if you like DMC you probably don't care to be distracted by puzzles and platforming. GoW should not be on this list, it's barely even a part of the genre. GoW is more like a platformer that decided to flesh out it's combat system more than usual and got to a weird midway point between an actual in depth system and the casual simplicity in every other platformers.

No. MGR is nothing above Good. The base game is good but it's too poor.
Haven't played W101 but it looks Okay tier, I mean when the gameplay distracts you between the tablet and the big screen you can't really make fast reactions, certainly not as fast as the other games.
Question time, is NG 1 really that much better than 2 ? I'm thinking of getting them for the PS3 but I don't know which one to start with.

1 is a lot harder, and you're given a lot more to explore, 2 let you experiment with weapons easier as you didn't have to spend a shit-ton of karma to upgrade them, also saves automatically after each level, so you don't have to worry about having to re-do the last boss if you can't find a checkpoint.
Also 2 had a lot longer loading times, particularly for team battles

Vanilla NG1 is kinda bare-bones. NGB is where it's at, and yes, it really is that good.

Well, I'm not going to be that guy that decries the Sigma games...but Xbox ones are generally a better experience. The Sigma games added more stuff, but the stuff in question isn't amazing. Start with either, really, both NG1 and 2 are great games regardless.

I'd say Shinobi is a 3D action platformer game. I thought it was a pretty good adaptation of the classic Shinobi gameplay to a 3D environment.

There are entire levels without actual platforming though, and most of it is pretty basic. The core mechanic in the PS2 Shinobi is 'go fast and kill everything in your way if necessary', which is something that needs a proper name, really.
