Mostly it's constant, (but necessary) backups that suck away the time since the 3DS is slow at making NAND backups, as well as reading and re-reading instructions, taking a fewbreaks, and taking your time not to rush through it.
Typically it takes me about 4-6 hours, depending on if an issue crops up.

Put Luma3DS.dat, 3ds and luma on your SD card.
Then replace boot.3dsx on your SD card with the one from in the menuhax folder.
The first time it boots you'll need to configure it. Turn these on.

...You just drag and drop the right files, install a permanent way to get to homebrew, follow the format directions to stop errors, and then re-install a way to get into homebrew without the browser.
It does take a while when you're first doing it and getting everything set up though.
But it's really easy to downgrade now compared to before where it literally wouldn't work half the time.

Ding ding ding.... This is the fucking answer to this question. I don't really have a problem with piracy but when I have unlimited access to a library of games that I didn't pay for I magically do not give a shit about playing them.
If I actually do play them then I can't focus on any one game and I skip around like a sperg and never finish anything or enjoy myself.
Since I am an adult with a job and I'm not poor I just purchase the games I am interested and I get legitimate enjoyment from playing them.
The only console that held my interest after I hacked it is my PSP.

It's literal human psychology to have a hard time sticking with / enjoying / picking something if you're overloaded with options.
A good example is McDonalds. Their menus had too many options on it and as a result sales dropped and items cannibalized. Having too many games does the same, you can't pick one, if you do it's hard to focus on it knowing there's 100 others you want to play, etc.

When I get them for free I feel no attachment to them or any inclination to play them, which is what happened when I hacked my Wii and DS way back.
Whereas if I buy them, I play them as much as possible so I can justify the purchase and get my moneys worth.

So then buy them. You people are idiots if you think hacked systems are strictly for pirating. For the 3DS it's literally the only way you can play foreign games without shelling out another $200 for a different system, you can remove the underclocking N3DS systems have on older games for much better framerates, you can take screenshots and use what is essentially an Action Replay without needing to buy an actual Action Replay(Which can't even be used for cheats anymore), you can stream without a capture card using a N3DS(Still in development), you can have custom themes without shelling out $2 for every theme that might have stupid stuff on it like the My Nintendo ones, and so on.
This is the equivalent of being able to hack a PSP but then just refusing because you can't handle not pirating to get a bunch of other features.
I'd rather wait for an easier method of hacking an 11.0 n3ds to be released. Hardmodding right now seems too damn risky. Ugh, and I remember when I was told a LONG time ago that hacking a 9.5 3ds was impossible.

Exactly. Take Mario RPG for example since I am currently playing it. I bought this for the SNES when I was a kid and it was one of the only games I owned. I loved this game and spent a lot of time discovering all the secrets and doing all the sidequests and crap. I played through it probably 10 times or more.
For some asshole with a hacked WiiU they are going to rush through it if they even attempt to finish it. More likely they will pick it up for a few hours, claim its nostalgia shit and then drop it and never look at it again. And then they will do the same to a bunch of other classic video games and never get a good solid engaging experience of the game.

The problem is, I tried downloading Picross E5 and it wouldn't work. It always restarts my console.
But yeah, if you have a 3DS and it's not hacked, what a waste of fucking time. When I had the DS, you can't imagine the fucking -joy- of having a flashcart. I must have completed like 50 fucking games on that thing.
Not so on the 3DS I must say. But that's for different circumstances and... to be fair there aren't that many good games on it. The 3DS is only good because the Vita is terrible. Even the controls are an issue.

I only choose emulation when it's equal or better, if there's flaws (like DS a few years ago) I still want the actual platform to play them.
I feel much more comfortable playing on a big screen with a proper controller. I'd like to play ALBW but I'm not even sure how good that runs.
