ITT underrated games
Banished is better

Oh god the settlers 3 and 4 were great.
then 5 came out and I was like "what the fuck is this?"
fucking ubisoft.
>>344766436
ikr, i was so disappointed
>>344766436
Try 7 then :^)
Oh boy, all these devs trying to completly change game mechanics of a series instead of letting it die.
>>344766309
Reminds me to play Settlers 2 again.
>>344766906
>>344766436
Was Rise of an Empire any good?
>>344766526
Might have been a good game if I didn't have to play it on a tiny-ass screen with enormous sprites. The GBA was entirely the wrong platform for shooters, but I guess 2D didn't have many options at the time.
Still no better merchant RPG's there
>>344767140
The sector idea was an okay idea, but not fitting for settlers.
I also remember it being optimized like shit and buggy as fuck, I didnt bother for long.
>>344766309
A bit more customization and freeplay and it would be great.
And I want Aquanox 3.
And Metal Fatique 2.
>>344767420
Didn't Aquanox 3 get crowd funded? I believe it's in the works
>>344768470
>>344767420
Yeah it's even got it's own steampage

>>344767420
>>344768470
>>344768545
That looks neat
Should I play AquaNox or AquaNox 2?
More fitting for "Games only you played" threads, though, I guess
>>344766906
My negro. Settlers 2 was my childhood game.
>>344766906
>>344769106
Settlers 2 is best Settlers
>>344769252

Insolated warrior for NEStoaster!
>>344766743
I will never ss this game. Why am I such a pleb?
>>344766309
Hate to be that guy, but I don't want to make a new thread.
I've had this game in my head now for weeks and I can't remember what it is. I think it was a console game from about 10 years ago.
The beginning has you mugged in an alley and you end up in a tavern with a Beholder head on the wall.
At some point you fight bugbears. Later on you fight a (white?) dragon in a mountain.
Any ideas? I thought it was Balder's Gate but it doesn't seem to be.
>>344769503
Really? I remember playing it on windows, but maybe it was just 98 or something.
>>344768709
To be honest, I only played Aquanox 1, and it was way back in the day, so me liking it might just be nostalgia goggles.
I would pirate to try them
>>344768873
Played that, it's Magic & Mayhem, though in america.
>>344769537
Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 1 or 2?
Anno seriesbesides 2205 shit
>>344769903
Dark Alliance 1. That's it, thanks! I didn't realize they were separate.
Part I remember starts around 6:30

Omega Metroids a best
>13 years later
>still no sequel or any game like this one
One of best games I ever played. Not the most stable one though
>>344770237
Was the first Metroid I ever played, really did enjoy it and was blown away by other titles in the series
>>344770270
I remember when I was little and I'd play all the demos and freeware I could get my hands on. I remember playing the demo to this one over and over ad infinitum. Still haven't played the full version to this day though.
its pretty neat
there are hidden objectives in almost every mission you can do to get better shit which is kinda addictive
Megaman V for GameBoy.

Does Nomads have a file somewhere? I'd get it from Gog but they don't have it.
>>344770089

1404 being the only worthy successor
>>344770495
>>344770130
These were both great couch games with a buddy, I bet they still would be. It's a shame about the game length though, they could be much, much longer and the story could be better. Overall the gameplay is a lot of fun though

>>344770691
I have this, but never got around to playing it.
Fixed my PS2, so now I actually can play it.
How good is it?
>>344771349
>Killer7

Enjoy those loading times.
I didn't like Settlers 3 and 4 (they are basically the same game). I even liked 5 more. 2 is the best and a classic.

>>344772381
>there are no shops here
>>344772648
the beginning was nice but it got pretty boring towards the end
Such a shame it flopped, the game was years ahead of its time.
>>344772381
CHOP IN
>>344772381
The music was great
But the artstyle was fucking painful holy shit.
>>344771349
GC version is better, but nonetheless it's a fun game. And don't worry, not understanding shit on your first playthrough is normal.
>>344766714
Are either of the Acid games actually good? Never played em, but I just got a bunch of .iso's that included the first one.
>>344772613
nope
it's even worse than 5 and 6
Settlers started becoming shit when they went from citybuildan to regular RTS
3 is still barely acceptable, after that it's all the worst
silhouette mirage
>better than Warcraft 3
>still shit on because Gamespy game
>>344772854
First one is OK, second is great.
It plays totally different from the main series in that the stealth is turn-based and cards are used to determine actions, attacks and movement.
There's not much continuity between them but it's still a good idea to play the first one first.
PC Games knew what was up even back in the old days. I fucking loved this game and its silly enemies with their even sillier voice files.
>>344769821
>>344768709
aquanox 2 is the superior game, it starts off kinda slow but it gets good
This game has an awesome music video for it

The healing is just a pain. You constantly have to use the piramids to TP to a bed and then heal
>>344769739
>>344773608
>>344769503
There is Back to the Roots aswell
>>344773453
MDK was one of my favorite games when I was a kid. It was still good when I did a playthrough couple of years ago. There seems to be a ton of good old PC games which seem to be a bit forgotten for no good reason. MDK even received a ton of praise when it was released.
>>344769521
I've SS'd most of the bronze and silver levels but I can't even get close with the gold ones.
>>344773953
You really need a ranged option to keep your sanity while playing the tutorial dungeon
I recommend spamming Meteorstrike
>>344770089
Come on man, they had the right idea, the art direction was just shit
oh and Uplay
>>344773396
Wasted some of my first earned money on it.
Oh boy, its literally "wtf is going on"
Spellforce series
>>344774096
I think I played a melee hero so you just run into a monster, hit eachother until its dead and you have to go back to recover.
>>344766714
My fucking nigger
>>344772749
Everything after the coouncil was rushed and it shows.
>>344773953
Yes the dungeon under the village is pretty boring but I cant really say I had much problems with healing, especially after that dungeon and man, thanks to those pyramids, you could save an assload of time, especially when you drop on in front of a store.
Or rob a store with the help of the pyramids :^)
>>344774186
Yeah man I tried going melee only the first time I played and gave up because the big skeletons would always kill me in one hit
I'm sure many people can agree with me on this one.
>>344773396
Everything about this cover reminds me of pic related
>>344773342
How are they regarded in terms of the general Metal Gear canon?
>>344770682
No clue, pirate it, I dont even know if it still runs on Win7.
>>344768470

>>344770691
>drinks: Mountain Dew

>>344774351
What was Creed's deal again? He can hide within any unit or something like that?
Better game than Herocraft 3.
>>344769216
That game was the shit.
>>344774307
Be happy you havent faced the big spiders then.
Basically, get a bow and cheese your way through, you might aswell try to kill 1 or 2 orcs outside the village to get a huge chunk of exp.
Just stay away from frost weapons later on, they make the combat obsolete.
>>344774327
why aren't they releasing 3DS Medabots?
>>344767290
This oh my god, played it what, 10 years ago now? Was my favorite game for years.
>>344774648
I meant I gave up and then tried again later with a non-melee build
Thankfully I like OP shit so spamming magic everywhere was fun
>>344774153
the boxart is the best part
>>344774557
I like that game, but I just suck, only guys I could play was Doombringer and Bulwark to level 16 and then die to some random caster.
To be honest, its always magic users fucking me to hell and back.
>>344774487
Holy fuck this game is SO HARD
>>344774153
>what the fuck why is everything so slow, why do I need so many bases, why cant my hero kill anything - early game
>man thats the best game ever! - mid game
>I am destroyer of worlds, I dont need a base, my hero kills everything alone - late game
Reminds me, I never touched Spellforce 2...
>>344767420
But does it permit to rob caravans?
>>344775007
there are no space caravans
>>344774890
Maybe you should try to__________________GIT GUD____________________
>>344774836
Try all the addon classes on the tome
I used a sun mage and I literally did not die till I found a enemy that uses the same moves that I do
Luminous horror i think was the name.
I thought oh this game looks old school is a roguelike I played games like this maybe ill get bored after a hour or 2
20 hours later im like woah holy shit this game is great.
>>344774373
Different universe.
>>344774493
He had an ability called Tactical Genius which could infiltrate (read: turn invisible) any unit that could accommodate the "Scouts" trait, which was anything up to and including a small Titan.
The joke lost momentum when the edition change made his ability non-unique.
>>344774815
Is there any fapmaterial in game?
>>344769869
Game is cool
>>344774768
it aged like milk even if it was a very fun game for its time
>>344774487
FOLLOW THE TUK TUK.
>>344775110
Wow Anon how hilarious and original!
But seriously, the game requires some insanely precise driving.
The sequel is much polished.
>>344775174
It looks like crap
all the puns are 20 years old
but the atmosphere of the levels hooked me when i was younger.
I think the game is underrated compared to other platformers.
That and this guy
>>344770548
do it, it may be even greater now since it is full of references.
>>344773837
? I don't get it. They have both.
>>344770270
fucking loved it but was scared shitless of it as a kid
real shame you couldn't go back to the hauntings you've already done
>>344773953
It's a casual filter, what do you expect?
>>344775174
>it aged
why do people throw their opinion into the garbage so quickly?
at least say stuff like:
"yeah that game was fun, but it feels too clunky/clustered/overly complex nowadays"
>>344775407
I'm saying that's another option. And I'd say it's a better option than buying from a platform selling pirated games
>>344769503
>>344773608
>not Return to the Roots
>>344775291
I was just fucking with you anon, the game is indeed very hard, but once you completed a level it felt so satisfying didn't it? I also loved fucking around in the arena creator. I heard the sequel was shit, how is it good?
>>344774373
They're non-canon/alt-universe
>>344775360
Glover is shovelware, bruh.
It only seems like a good game because of how little N64 games there are.
>>344775443
>It's a casual filter
Not to mention all these little things, that made the game so good.
>explore to the west of the village
>find arrows and burned grass
>wait a minute, what happened in the cutscene again ...
>duplicating the healstone to save both guys in the village
>>344775583
The MP is still bugged for me, I cant find any games.
Does it have LAN mode? Im visiting a friend and we are trying to play some games, maybe I can make it work this time.
>>344775519
that's what it usually means when someone says a game aged
the camera is truly awful, gameplay is clunky and levels become repetitive after playing them over and over unlike some marios
>>344775659
Nah I liked it
it was a fun ass game that should be rebooted now a days
I liked a lot of early 3d platformers when they came out
Even with there flaws I just always wanted to explore and see and jump higher and go places and do shit.
That is me though not every nigga who plays games will want that.
Only platforming game im looking forward to is Y-L now a days.
That and dumb shitty indie ones
>>344775540
I think you're confusing GOG and G2A
>>344775763
>spend 20 minutes looking for a switch or key for the first locked gate
>the switch was a random-ass demon skull on the wall right next to the gate
This is the only thing I hate about isometric games
And no it doesn't get highlighted like items do
>>344775595
>but once you completed a level it felt so satisfying didn't it?
Yes, it did. I don't mind the challenge of course, I was simply noting the game really is difficult.
>I heard the sequel was shit, how is it good?
It has been countless years since I've touched either of the two games so I couldn't give you a real answer. All I remember is that the presentation feels much more "professional" and the driving mechanics are much smoother.
>>344766436
The way you feel about 5 in comparison to 3 is how most people feel about 3 in comparison to god-tier 2 (and 1).
Best Japanese indieshit from 2006. Still getting updates even today.
>>344775917
He's one of those retards that claim there is no point in buying DRM-free games and that you might as well pirate them.
>>344775917
G2A sells stolen keys, not pirated games
GOG sells torrented games, complete with scene cracks
Call To Power 2
>>344776129
You're the retard here
https://www.gog.com/forum/general_archive/gog_arcanum_release_uses_warez_scene_crack/page1
>>344767420
Yeah freeplay and more customization, aswell as not keeping any sort of automated turret away from you for soooo fucking long was desperately needed. That, or at least have local or online co-op so friends can man those guns. Collectively running an island would've been great.
Also I loved Metal Fatigue and there need to be more RTS with ideas like the 3 levels and the customizeable superunit. Total Annihilation: Kingdoms, too.
Really underrated
>>344766309
this was another german game like the settlers but this one tried to copy them, which wasnt bad at all
>>344775425
Except you could. You can enter statistics screen by clicking on a pumpkin and replay any level.
Pic related.
And also Netstorm: Islands at War.
>>344776119
The original Elona is still gettin updates? Or are you talking about Elona+?
>>344770691

Alien Nations in english IIRC.
>>344776324

I loved the steampunk guy with the gatling guns but man, it was so hard compared to the guy with rockets that got a tracking upgrade.
>>344776334
Looks like Venetica, i.e. shit
>>344766309
Personally I like the Cultures more.
Ayy
>>344776482
It never has been underrated.
>>344776542
Game pretty much needed either automated turrets or a crew of either NPCs or other players to be a fucking classic.
>>344776556
So you haven't played it. Okay.
>>344776678
Loved that game as a kid. Play the shit out of the demo
>>344776895
>>344776482
He's right, its never been underrated by those who know about it, but a lot of people don't know about it because it didn't come to the US, who got Chrono Trigger instead, because they didn't trust the US with relgious tones that were non-Christian or critical of religion in general.
>>344776895
most americans don't even know this masterpiece exists
Is EYE underrated? Fucking no one outside of /v/ knows it
>>344776678

both games actually

>>344777067
I would say it's overrated.
The story is shit because nothing is explained.
They have a great name and art style, thats it.
>>344777347

It looks exactly like Venetica which was shit
How is that an opinioned comment
>>344777183
nigga it was pretty sexy when you look at these busty females getting impregnated by the warriors and then giving birth to the next generation
>>344772381
It's not underrated. It's shit.
I tried to play that game thanks to fags like fellating the shit out of it and it was not fun at all. I got bored within an hour but powered through to 4 hours because I thought it might get better.
Fuck that game.
>>344777374
It's all explained anon, you just gotta read it instead of raging about the translation
Even if you ignore the story, the game is the GOAT shoot everything simulator
>>344769521
0.3% of people have SS'd it on steam. I'll never be able to SS Backup Shift. NEVER.
>>344774641
That's not underrated you mongoloid.
It was highly praised where it was released and it never made it to America so USA only got to play it via emulators if they ever learned about it.
>>344777564
It's nothing like Venetica.
And your comparison between the two is subjective, and your opinion of Venetica is also an opinion (go figure), ergo opinioned.
>>344778036
