RIP AND TEAR
>>344765621
If you count our old Macintosh, it was Stratego or this Egyptian adventure game where you had to investigate a pyramid.
Otherwise, some DOS games, but the first REAL game I played was Soldier of Fortune. My parents didn't agree at first (I was 12), but they were alright with it in the end.
>>344766156
i just cant unsee it
>>344765621
That or Abuse/Commander Keen/LodeRunner
>>344765621
the half-life demo
commandos was the first full game though
Tomb raider i think
My brother and I literally convinced our dad to buy one so we could play.
WHY DID I NOT LET THIS INFLUENCE ME TO START PC GAMING EARLIER
My parents wasted so much money on shit I never play or still play but only because I can emulate it now. Fuck it wasn't till I was 14 that I even knew what a graphics card was, I thought getting a better monitor would make games run better
>>344765621
you must be 18yo or older to post here.
>>344765621
I dont even know, it was a used PC that came with a bunch of games preinstalled, including Street Fighter 2.
>>344767085
That game was so fucking slow but a ton of fun
>>344768891
Nightmares.jpg
And never did I know that there was a button that made you go faster so you could outrun the yeti
>>344765621
>>344769020
>never did I know that there was a button that made you go faster so you could outrun the yeti
There was?
ALL THOSE DEATHS WERE FOR NOTHING?
>>344765621
QBASIC Gorillas
I remember that throwing a banana through the sun or the moon would cause it to turn into an x_x face and it was really entertaining to me back then
>>344769184
Hold F m8
On a black and white monitor no less.
I still remember having to look up the code with some silly red transparent thing to get past the shareware version of the game.
Had an amiga500 first, but Fury3 was the first pc game I played since it came with the prebuilt IMB Aptiva (75Mhz).
>>344765621
NFS 3
Not the first, but Twinsen's Odyssey was fucking awesome.
this, tanktics and a chess game. they came with my pc. there was a 3d pool game, but it didn't worked
I barely solved any puzzles in this damn game, but it was an amazing experience.
this game was GOAT
>>344765621
I don't remember what it was called but I do remember how it looked like.
My uncle brought a pc when I was a baby and I remember him letting me play games on it.
I will try to describe the game and hope someone knows the name of the game.
It was all green and black, you were something and moved around and shot green boxes, there were some flying circles too, and there were green pyramids to hide behind cover . Hopefully someone knows what it looks like
>>344770056
Was it Battlezone?
I had a demo disk of it. Was a pretty cool game. Not 90s though.
>>344770173
>tfw that doesn't work on Windows 10
Me and my dad used to play this trying to figure out where to go after you kill the fat chef. The tramp gave me nightmares for weeks, still not really sure why.
>trying to pirate it by copying to floppy disks
thats one of my first memories of pirating
>First game thread
>Everyone is fucking 86 years old
DX ball
>>344770557
i dont remember my first game
>playing wolfestein in computer classes
>playing some mario on nintendo? my father fixed a few of those and could play with a few , tho first console was a megadrive with sonic
>>344765621
You are not a fag OP
This was a surprisingly good point 'n clicker.
>>344768486
>Fuck it wasn't till I was 14 that I even knew what a graphics card was, I thought getting a better monitor would make games run better
Wew. Didn't your mother teach you how computers worked?
>tfw my mom set up pic related on the first 386 DOS/3.1 crossboot PC for me
Also the first vidya I ever played.
Eso es facil.
>>344770473
Our first computer was stolen when our house was broken into, and I remember when we replaced it my dad went to like a speciality store instead of some electronics retailer. We got a lot of custom stuff including a CD-RW drive and a 4x DVD drive. I used to rent Playstation games from the video store every weekend and just copy them to the point where I had a whole sleeve book collection going. I'd also swap copies of my friends games and make little gay custom art on the CD. Hell you could flat out go to video game stores that half the time sold actual burned games and games that were hard to get. Like shit this was so common back then, and it was the same time literally everyone was just flat out downloading music off Napster or Kazaa.
It was the frontier days of pirating.
>>344770880
I had a demo of this, was it the one where they start in school and you have to get out of class to go to some party?
>>344771091
>and it was the same time literally everyone was just flat out downloading music off Napster or Kazaa.
Are you implying people pay for music today?
>when you say your first game is duke nukem and they think it's an FPS
>>344765621
This little gem or probably lemmings 3d
Quake 1 without mouselook and in software mode, it was spooky as fuck
This one.
>>344765621
Probably minesweeper, and when xp came out,the pinball game. First real game I played was Wolfenstein: Enemy Territories
>>344771335
damn forgot image
ARSENAL: Taste The Power
>>344765621
I think it was Dune 2000, though Commandos was probably my second game.
>>344765621
was the shit back then
I believe it was this.
My first computer was a C64, PC wise I think it might have been Kingpin but I am seriously not 100% could have been fucking anything I still have a load of CD Jewel cases with games like Commandos and Desperados.
>>344771192
are you implying you are using kazaa or napster?
The first one I clearly remember
I had one I vaugly remember on an old Mac before this ,but no idea what it was called , i suspect it could be false memories
> massive Rube Goldberg puzzles with a little man on the screen
>>344771192
1. The difference was people didn't know it was illegal so people were readily available to get free music or get into the whole internet thing for access to free music, so you get middle aged people who probably barely use computers for the job (at the time) actually doing so.
2. I think more people actually use a streaming service than pirating music these days to be honest.

>>344765621
My brother had DOOM on our old computer and that was the first game I ever played.
By the time I actually got a computer of my own I mostly played flash games and Rome Total War.
>>344771827
I hated this game so much. The only thing it was good for were the amazing animations.
>>344772009
christina aguilera with britney spears naked.exe
>>344770387
If you own CoD:BO you can play Zork off of the main menu. That's actually how I first played it.
>>344770927
Muh nigger
I remember that game being ridiclouy hard
I never got past the milinuim falcon level
> have to squeeze the big ship though all those tiny tunnles
> even brushing the sides would cause you to bounce around uncontroably and explode
>>344765621
When I got my first PC, the first CD that I popped in was a collection of fighting/action games, such as Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Children of the Atom, Fatal Fury, Virtual On and so on, but the first one I installed and played was this one, for no particular reason
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dV5VJXEUfyo
Fuck, I think I may still have the disc.
>>344772224
Fuck off codfag
Either pic related or Loom.
It only had DOS on it and I had to go to my neighbour to buy a soundcard for it, good times.
Had the original DOS version. Still got it as well. Might be time for a playthrough
>>344772472
Who's the QT
My own/Immediate families PC, I assume?
I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume it was Wolf3D. Always played stuff on my grandads PC because he always had the cutting edge of everything. Finally got our own beastly as fuck machine with a 40mb hardrive packed with a metric (and possibly also imperial) fuck-ton of shareware titles, plus whatever grandpappy passed down.
>mf-and also my ears-w he gave us his old Soundblaster card
>>344772621
did you play treasure mountain? i only played mountain and not cove.
>>344773676
Yeh I did, that was the maths one wasn't it?
I had almost all the games of that series at one point
Barely remember the game. I was too young to know what the fuck I was doing.
I was like 6 or 7
If op meant on my own pc that'd beHoMM3

JEEZ
SPOILER THAT SHIT DUDE
Jazz Jackrabbit.
Does anybody know the name of a dark game where you fight on a farm? That's the best description I can give.
some late 90s-early 2000s rally game
i forgot the name
A call to trial. Justice by combat.
Not the first game I played, but the first game I bought
Does anyone remember it?
I vaguely remember an old rpg. sometime before 1993. Started in a port city and the map had a bunch of islands and you could take boats around, but you'd get rekt by a sea serpent if you went too far.
had some pop out menu based combat system, which seems pretty progressive for the time.
Encarta '95 was this shit.
Not sure, must have been Commander Keen 2 or something... or Stunts. Born in 89
>>344781083
>a black nun untying her robe

>>344770927
Holy shit yes, I loved that game.

This.
>>344765950

The pc version though. I remember being overwhelmed by the keyboard as a kid.
>>344781308
I loved that game, all those destructible buildings and that amazing soundtrack

I was 11 years old, rolled a mage, put monsters to sleep with a spell and smashed their balls with a big stick while they slept
>>344771003
goddamn i remember this
And it was good. I still prefer Transport Tycoon, though.
>>344780048
goddamn that must have been confusing as fuck
good for you anon
>>344779682
Ah yes! This shit was so complex for a 11 year old me. Loved it either way.
>>344769679
this
fuck those faggot cats
I played a crapload when I was a tiny baby that I can't remember. This is the earliest I can remember though. The multiplayer was crazy
>>344765621
It was Solaris for AOL Games, and then their Starship Troopers Open World game.
>>344781452
Damn nigga that's pretty good. Totally forgot about the soundtrack.
The world needs more late 90s drum and bass.

Don't really remember what was actually first, but it was probably pic related, rise of the triad or something like that
>criminal lack of doom or wolfenstein in this thread
Am I just getting old or what?
>>344782738
I was too poor, didn't get a PC until I was 14.
Sure is underage in here
>>344765621
Worms. And it was beautiful.
>>344782738
Some people started playing before Doom or Wolf were even made.
Star Wars: Dark Forces
>>344769201
Awww mannnn I remember gorillas, it was hilarious fun. Scorched earth was truly excellent back in the day too, burnt many hours on that game and made some cheeky shots with the roller and MIRV.
What was your first 16 bit game on the pc?
>>344765621
croc and incoming they came with the computer
>Don't try that with Commander Farrel. He won't appreciate it.
>>344769493
Twinsen was great mang, I had the second game and it was dope.
>>344768616
>you must be 18yo or older to post here
The game itself is more than 18 years old
>>344765950
what he said
also pic related
It's either this, one of the Commander Keen games or MegaRace.
I never even came close to finishing it to this day, much less knew what the fuck was going on when I was young
>>344771191
Yes, the hock a loogie mini game was the best part of the demo. It was on the win95 games demo disc, along with return fire which was an excellent game.
>>344784285
I was going to cry foul, but that came out 13 years ago now
What the fuck happened
On my PC? Shit, maybe Day of the Tentacle. I played PC games earlier but on other people's systems.
>memmaker
>>344765621
This bad boy was the shit in the early 90's. It came out in 92 I think, and I played it as much as I could. It was the bomb. And then when I got Master of Orion a year or so later, I couldn't believe how good it was.
Both fantastic games to this day. I wonder which games from now will hold the test of time.
This bitch right here at the ripe old age of 3.
>>344769602
If my dad hadn't bought this on a whim, I would've probably been a successful individual and not a NEET. King's Quest ruined my life.
>>344785116
Wait I might have fucked up, the question was with my own PC?
Let's see, I bought my first PC when I was like thirteen, and the game I bought it for was Diablo II. Absolutely 100% worth the money.
>>344783170
We played Doom and Wolfenstein all the time at friends places, but Dark Forces was the first FPS I personally owned.
>>344765621
I played this and some game where you built shit and the workers were fat and farted all the time, I think rival construction companies sabotaged and stole building plans and all that shit. What was it's name /v/?
>>344785116
Lemmings is truly one of the most replayable games I can think of to this day, I had it on the Amiga but never the pc, which was a really good port but the music wasn't as good.
Did you ever play oh no! More lemmings or Christmas Lemmings at all?
>>344785487
>throw baby
>>344785536
Constructor I believe, it was pretty good.
This shit in LAN at work.

>>344765621
Still play it aswell.
You might think I played this a long ass time ago, but really it was 2007 and my first PC could barely even run Halo 1.
>>344787883
Goddammit. Wrong picture. Fuck me in my hairy ass
Hard as fuck
>>344786858
Not really, lemmings, oh no! More lemmings and lemmings 2: the tribes were the only ones I liked.
They've made loads of spinoffs and sequels, including a few 3D games but I didn't think Amy of them were that great.
Then again, I think that all of the worms games after worms: Armageddon are subpar.

>>344765621
No fucking Idea, but Heroes 2, RA1 and AOE1 are all likely due to me already having played them to death on my parent's pc.

I've no idea what was my first game since but pic rel is the one I remember playing the most as a little kid.

Holy shit, I remember we got this game for free when we bought our mighty 400 mhz compaq PC
Daggerfall was my first non-Minesweeper game.
Really coloured what games I played from there on.
I swear the game had better graphics back then, than on DOSbox now. Maybe it was the small computer screens?
>>344787716
This game was installed on the school PCs during 1 and 2nd grade. We had no idea what we were doing but we all played. No one even figured out how the battles worked.
I think my wizard uncle installed starcraft on it .
I was never very good though because I was young as fuck and had no idea what I was doing. Still fun nonetheless
I played a shitton of games on my mother's work pc or my friends' pcs previously but this was the first game I played when I got my first PC.
Aladdin
Guy my mom was fuckin bought me Diablo 2.
I think it was this
Jungle Book on PC-Dos
The only good battlefield.

Emphasis on valued.
Still, they made some great games. I loved logic quest, though I was a bit young for it when I first got it.

Oh fuck it is. Thanks guys
>>344785795
Command and Conquer Red Alert

Huh... never heard of breaking into prison.
>>344793510
It's freeware now nigga. Still plays well, and doesn't look too bad.
And of course Klepacki's soundtrack is timeless.
This thread makes me remember the good ol days where you'd load up a game having no clue what to expect and being blown away even if it was actually pretty mediocre. You'd still be amazed and sucked in and be able to sit there for hours entranced by the game.
Now i boot something up play it for 20 minutes and get sick of it.
I don't normally play pc games
CCR for life, homie.
>>344792297

AOL Games, got my first PC when I was 14 Years old.
Was back around 99-01
Fucking Solaris. And that Starship Troopers game they had too.
>>344768891
fuck that fucking yeti
i had no idea i was playing a demo and that he would just come and eat my ass regardless
First I can remember was the games on that 100 free action arcade games CD or some shit. Been trying to find the names of some of the games on there for fucking years.
There was one where you were piloting an armed hover car through a cyberpunk city filled with other hover cars. I remember bounty hunting other hover cars through train systems and shit, then having to hug the roof if a train started coming, as well as pissing off cops and some fancy looking city with a rollercoaster and a spawn for a fat man nuke.
Then there was some Japanese-looking fighting game with guns that either ran on ballistic ammo or energy cells. I remember there being a training thing where it showed one of the fighters from whatever the fuck organization you're a part of fighting a training robot, but sometimes the robot would win and the announcer would flip shit.

I'm on mobile so i don't have the boxart, but Descent completely opened my mind to what video games could be. I'd never played anything so fast and smooth, and in 360 degrees.
Honestly can't remember, it's all blurring together at this point. This was one of the first tho.

I played this (and a Robocop one from around the same year) when I was a very little kid
I did't know what I had to do back then. I remember seeing it with some weird colours (pink, light blue and purple, it was weird, the Robocop game also had the same problem)
After these two games I had Paganitzu: Romancing the Rose, Secret Agent: The hunt for Red Rock Rover , Crystal Caves: Troubles with Twibbles and Commander Kee: Goodbye Galaxy
They were awesome
also the PC was an i386 or i486, I can't remember well
