How is your fun going anon?
>>344758886
Minotaur was so fucking rad.
>>344758886
Will you end it thus?
MOST UNLUCKY FOR YOU
>don't feel like playing through SMTIV TWO MORE god damn times to get all the endings on one save file
What do you get in Apocalypse if you do this?
I know I have more than two months since the game comes out in late September but that just sounds god damned exhausting.
>>344758886
Put on a good show, samurai.
>>344759097
Does it even detect your save files?
What is the point of Smirk?
The Press Turn system already gives you an advantage if you exploit weaknesses, and a disadvantage if you fuck up.
>>344759458
Smirk was a mistake. I think most people on /v/ agree to that.
>be me
>first SMT game
>enjoy the combat immensely
>having fun fusing demons
>running around, unlocking the truth
>get lost immediately upon making the kelpie bridge
I'm talking incomprehensibly lost, looked up video guides and still had no idea how to move and advance the story from my location. Happened twice now and I'd feel like an idiot to start over a third time.
>>344759458
make the battles get resolved faster. the game was targeted at jap commuters as a solid length rpg they could play for 10-20 minutes at a time while going to and from work/school, while rarely getting stuck in a situation where you can't quickly wrap up, save, and turn off.
>>344759236
Yes, though I don't know how it does it.
>>344759714
You're not the only one. I got lost my first time around in Tokyo.
Eventually I memorized the layout and have had no problems progressing through the story beyond that particular playthrough.
>>344759985
>the game was targeted at jap commuters as a solid length rpg they could play for 10-20 minutes at a time while going to and from work/school, while rarely getting stuck in a situation where you can't quickly wrap up, save, and turn off.
>90% of the game is a labyrinth
>play SMT4
>first time playing any SMT game
>it's a fucking grindfest just to make it to a 2nd turn against early mini-bosses.
I fail to see how anybody can enjoy this game unless you're the kind of person who finds comfort in repetition.
>>344760506
It's actually one of the easier 3DS RPGs. Come back after you've played Etrian Odyssey, Mario & Luigi or Super Mystery Dungeon.
>>344760704
Never heard of Etrian Odyssey, does BIS count because that was awesome, and don't care for Pokemon.
>>344760506
>smtiv
>grind
The only part of the game you maybe have to grind is to beat the minotaur and even then is only for some skills.
>>344760506
>grindfest
>>344761027
Even if that's true, which it isn't, because I had to grind just to get past those whoever the fucks on level 3 without them taking me out before I even get a shot out, grinding is never a mark of a good RPG, ever.
>>344760506
Are you retarded? If by grinding you mean negotiating with 3 demons and fusing them off then I can understand you.
I was severely underleveled by the end of the game and didn't do ANY sidequests.
The only boss that completely raped me was King Kenji. I killed him after buying a couple of demons from compendium and fusing them.
Also I killed Minotaur on the second try because I was lucky.
>>344761231
Examples of RPGs without grinding?
Even completely casual stuff like Skyrim or The Witcher 3 require some grinding.
>>344760469
Dude you can save anywhere and there are 0 actual dungeons in game
>>344758886
>yfw can't finished SMTIV because TMS #FE was released
I just can't bear SMTIV gameplay anymore. So fuckin boredom comparing to gorgeous TMS combat.
>>344761274
By grinding I mean going into a battle
and winning exp
over and over and over and fucking over
>>344761339
First example popping into my head is Paper Mario. As long as you aren't flat out avoiding battles, grinding isn't necessary because you level up at a rate that keeps up with the enemy. I guess I can throw Pokemon X and Y into here too because of how broken the exp share was.
>>344761447
you
>>344761447
>Hit a weakness
>Watch a cutscene for 30 seconds and win
>>344761517
Tell me how did I beat the game without grinding
Should I get demolingual?
>>344761926
Trick question. You didn't.
>>344761589
So it's basically SMT IV gameplay, but with sessions, FE triangle system and stellar Ad-lib performances.
>>344758886
God, I love his design.
It's beatifull.
>>344761447
>>344762017
fuck off retard
>>344762017
No it's Strange Journey gameplay with unskippable cutscenes whenever you hit a weakness and Persona 3's physical damage types
>>344760506
SMT 4 starts off like shit. Once you get out of Naraku and beat the medusa, is when you get into the real game.
>>344762124
>unskippable
Use your "-" button, bro.
>>344762006
Of course I did, Chaos alignment.
The only boss hard boss I encountered was Kanji, just because I didn't have any good demons at the time.
You're just a shitter who can't negotiate with demons properly and can't figure out enemy's weaknesses
>>344762235
Well isn't that a shame because it was when I first stepped into Tokyo, which is underground for some reason, and walked around for five minutes when I said "Fuck this crap" and stopped playing. I'd had enough at that point and didn't want to keep going. Maybe it does get tolerable later, but 5 hours or more of trekking through garbage isn't worth it when there's plenty of rpgs good from start to finish.
>>344762705
SMT4 Tokyo is so weird most SMT players won't fault you for using a map especially if it's your first SMT game.
>>344762705
You sound awfully impatient. Was it too hard to just walk around a little and see where you ended up?
