There are plenty of majors before EVO and I'll say it again, other locals will grow to the size of the current CEO and take it's place while even more, new locals will pop up to take their place.
Fighting games can be played competitively with a monitor and a station, it's not like FPS or MOBAs, anyone can set that shit up.
We'll never have a shortage of grassroot tournaments so growth is a good thing, the main issue with the scene right now is the low level of play in intermediates, you need to be a top player to (continue) to play at a top level due to lack of talent.
